This is the clean pony car with an extra story to tell. People love to see and talk about the 1965 Ford T5 a genuine Mustang that never carried the Mustang name at all. So to have a rare curiosity in desirable GT form and been invested in nicely creates one of the most irresistible classic packages around. This is one of the Mustangs that was originally exported to Germany, but a copyright issue meant that it could not carry the Mustang name. That created an interesting subcategory of this classic called T5 . Theres an online T5 directory that will tell you the whole story, and its also where you can see this car listed. Its one of only about a hundred cars currently known from 1965. So thats what makes this car interesting... what makes it beautiful is the presentation. There has been a solid investment in respraying this coupe in its legendary Wimbledon White. The modern clearcoat finish not only highlights the crisp sheetmetal, but the extra shine goes nicely with all that brightwork. And of course, youve noticed the appeal of the full GT package. Fog lights in the grille, correct badging, styled steel wheels, and the trumpeted exhaust mounted through the rear valance are quite sporty. Plus, the red triple rocker stripe not only looks great against the white, but its also a preview of the interior. The condition of the red interior is a clear sign of a good restoration and care. The seats, dash, steering wheel, door panels, headliner, and all other main red components have the feeling of a more recent investment. And lovers of details will enjoy pointing out little things unique to the T5s history like how the Mustang name doesnt appear on the horn cap. This has all the right packaging for a GT car, including the full round gauge package set in the premium wood-like panel. In fact, this one really feels authentic everywhere from the proper trunk mat to the AM radio thats still on display. This is a true A-code car, and so its nice to see a performance package under the hood. Fords 289 cubic-inch V8 has upgrades like an Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. The engine bay has been given the same care as the rest of the car, and so it fires up nicely and makes a sweet sound out of the dual exhaust. You get true control over this V8 power thanks to the three-speed maul transmission and Hurst shifter. And this GT even has the proper front disc brakes for ideal control. So youre looking at a very cool collectable that was also meant for driving. This is a pony car that sticks out in the already desirable Mustang herd. So when something this distinguished is also so affordable, you know you need to hurry to grab this deal. Call today!!!

The Mustang is also credited for inspiring the designs of coups such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri, which were imported to the United States. As of August 2018, over 10 million Mustangs have been produced in the U.S.The original two seater Mustang concept was abandon the due to the increase in sales the Thunderbird had seen when enlarged from a two-seater to a 2+2 in 1958. Thus, a four-seat car with full space for the front bucket seats, as originally planned, and a rear bench seat with significantly less space than was common at the time, were standard. A "Fastback 2+2", first manufactured on August 17, 1964, enclosed the trunk space under a sweeping exterior line similar to the second series Corvette Sting Ray and European sports cars such as the Jaguar E-Type coupe.

View and Bid on this vehicle at Bid.WheelerAuctionGroup.com Very few classic cars can carry the distinction as one of the highest produced cars of its time and as well as some of the rarest cars of its time, but yet the Ford Mustang is able to do this for nearly every year. Think about it, as many Mustangs were produced in 1969 only a fraction left the factory as BOSS 429s. If you include the 64.5 Mustangs, Over 600,000 mustangs were produced in just 1965 alone! of those less than 8,000 were k-code 271hp Mustangs. Thats 1.3% of the entire production run. Now you can understand why were are really excited about this 1965 Ford Mustang K-code fastback. Not only did this leave the factory as one of the rarest mustangs out there, but it also left in arguably the greatest colors - Code A - Raven Black. Its accented very nicely by the rare palomino pony interior. Quick observers will notice that it wears all the correct GT components, but I dont believe it to be a real GT. The mustang doesnt have much documentation short of owners manual and hipo manual. But, from what I can tell, it very well could be a dealer installed GT package because its all there - correct gauges, fog lights, 13/16 front sway bar, AX coded steering box, exhaust out the rear, correct stripe, badging, etc.. But without documentation, theres no way to know for certain. The paint shows very well and we would call it good driver condition. Its black so it shows a lot of the minor flaws that colors like red and yellow wont. But a good wet sand and buff and this car would eliminate a lot of the flaws that have occurred over time. Most of which are just from road debris. Whoever painted it clearly knew what they were doing because the car is straight and clean. Id just say its probably a 10 - 15 years on the paint. Pop open the hood and youll see the correct 289ci V8 wearing the correct big exhaust manifolds, correct dampener and correct dual point distributor. These K-codes made 271hp at 6,000 rpms! Today this engine fires up easily and sounds great. Backed to the engine is the correct BX code close ratio top loader 4-speed manual with a 8.8 rear out back. Inside the interior shows extremely well. The tan palomino interior features bucket pony seats, folding 2+2 rear seats, wood grain steering wheel and a upgraded AM/FM cassette player. Its a great accent to the black exterior and a color combination that you just never see on these old mustangs. Dont miss your chance to own this one of a kind Mustang. DOES IT WORK? The first-generation Ford Mustang was manufactured by Ford from March 1964 until 1973. The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustangs styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition. It was initially introduced as a hardtop and convertible with the fastback version put on sale in August 1964. At the time of its introduction, the Mustang, sharing its underpinnings with the Falcon, was slotted into a compact car segment Production began in March 1964 and official introduction following on April 17 at the 1964 Worlds Fair. V8 models got a badge on the front fender that spelled out the engines cubic inch displacement (260 or 289) over a wide V. This emblem was identical to the one on the 1964 Fairlane. Thank you for your interest in this sleek 1965 Ford Mustang located in our Tampa location. This car is a true piece of Ford history that simply turns heads anywhere it cruises by. The Twilight Turquoise green paint scheme with black vinyl top have made this car really stand out against other Mustangs in its class and is the way this car came from the factory when it was new. This rare 200 CI 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual transmission have been completely rebuilt just under 11,000 miles ago. The 200 CI 6 is rated at 120 horse power but sure feels like more. Contrary to popular belief, the first model year for the Ford Mustang was 1965. Mustangs produced between March 9th and July 31st of 1964 are often coined the 1964 Ford Mustang by enthusiasts, but for all intents and purposes, the cars are 1965 models on paper. The 1965 Mustang listed is built after the time line and is an actual 1965 with the 200 inline 6. This particular Mustang has been restored and redone about 7 years ago and has a 170 sticker on the air breather but it is in fact the 200 due to there being 5 freeze plugs in the block. It has recently had new tires and brakes put on it. The overall condition of the paint, interior, and engine in my opinion would rate as show quality. This car has many options like Air conditioning, AM/FM radio, black vinyl interior, and even white wall tires which makes the cars driving ability comfortable. If you are looking for the first classic car investment or even adding to one and need that super clean Mustang, this is the car for you. The year is 1964, The World s largest cheese is manufactured in Wisconsin for the New York World Fair, US President Lyndon B. Johnson signs Civil Rights Act & Voting Rights Act into law and this gorgeous 1964 HiPo Mustang rolls into dealerships for the first time. Since then she has undergone a full meticulous restoration. Now with only 45 miles on her since the restoration was completed earlier this year. It is believed that only 90 64 HiPo s coupes were ever produced. The Ford Mustang is an American car manufactured by Ford. It was originally based on the platform of the second generation North American Ford Falcon, a compact car. The original 1962 Ford Mustang I two-seater concept car had evolved into the 1963 Mustang II four-seater concept car which Ford used to pretest how the public would take interest in the first production Mustang. The 1963 Mustang II concept car was designed with a variation of the production models front and rear ends with a roof that was 2.7 inches shorter. Introduced early on April 17, 1964 (16 days after the Plymouth Barracuda), and thus dubbed as a 1964 by Mustang fans, the 1965 Mustang was the automakers most successful launch since the Model A. The Mustang has undergone several transformations to its current sixth generation. Its easily the best thing to come out of Dearborn since the 1932 V-8 Model B roadster. But for all Fords talk of Total Performance, its still clear that the Mustang has been designed and built to a price. The necessity of meeting cost goals meant that it had to share a maximum number of components with other models in the Ford line. Out of this situation sprang the advantage of an extremely wide availability of options for the Mustang, selected from the Falcon, Fairlane and Galaxie series. Briefly, it gives the customer a choice of four engines, three clutches, seven transmissions, two driveshafts, four brake systems, four wheel types and three wheel sizes, three suspension systems, and three steering systems. This seems slightly overwhelming until one remembers that only certain combinations are authorized, for either technical or commercial reasons. Lee Anthony Iacocca, vice president and general manager of Ford Division, sees the Mustang first as a family car, which meant that it had to have four seats, with better rear seat accommodation than is offered in the two-plus-two category. Its also aimed at a not-clearly-defined market consisting of customers looking for a not-clearly-defined combination of luxury and status. In addition to all this, the Mustang is intended as a sports car. Especially with the 271 HP V8 HiPo, backed by a 4 speed. You ll feel like Capt. Stanley Tucker, driving this beauty down the road.
