We all are all attracted to the 1974 Ford Mustang Mach 1 because its the finale for legendary first generation. And this one preserves that memory a little better than most. With the original paint, interior, and V8, this low-mileage fastback is exactly what you want in a time capsule car. Want documentation? This coupe has all the best with a Marti Report, original window sticker, and much more! With this kind of the historical significance, the factory-correct Golden Glow seems like a fitting way to close the book on the first-generation pony car. Its believed to be the original application from the factory. So while its not perfect, it does do a great job of showing off that worn-in personality that instantly lets people know you have a survivor car. More than just history, you want this because its an aggressive-looking Mach 1 fastback. That means a blacked-out hood with NACA ducts, black stripe package, rear window slats, rear spoiler, and even an upgrade to a premium black vinyl roof. So this is the one that pleases the historians and the muscle car crowds all at once! Inside is more of the time capsule feeling. It starts with the ginger seats finished with cool ComfortWeave inserts. Its the kind of design that could only come from the 1970s, and so its great to still see them this complete today. All the other pieces from the carpets, to the dash pad, to the door panels all follow this earthy tone. So for those of you who want something else than muscle car black, this is a terrific way to stand out from the crowd. And because the Mach 1 was a premium package from Ford, you got plenty of wood inserts, which happen to follow this total color theme quite nicely. Plus, there are other great premium features, like the center console armrest and factory AM/FM stereo. But as a true drivers machine, you get the right features, too. This includes a rim-blow three-spoke sports steering wheel, and a full gauge panel with large speedo and tach. Under the hood is exactly what you want to see, a 351 cubic-inch Cleveland V8. And this H-code Mustang shows off its numbers-matching motor with great originality, right down to the bold blue valve covers and factory decals. You can see from the level of care and maintenance that this is a cherished Mach 1, and it has averaged less than 850 miles annually! Out on the road, this is a smooth cruiser as the V8 delivers plenty of power through the original FMX three-speed automatic transmission. Plus, with power steering, front disc brakes, and BF Goodrich T/As, this significant Stang is easy to show off anywhere. This fantastic survivor also comes with all the right paperwork. This includes copies of the following: window sticker, dealer invoice, bill of sale, title documentation, factory buildsheet, and Marti Report to verify it all. It also comes with a copy of the owners manual. So if youre looking for standout preservation on your classic, dont let this pony go into someone elses stable. Call now!... Read more

1973 Ford Mustang Convertible for Sale. H Code 351 Cleveland V8 engine, 4 barrel carburetor and intake upgrades, dual exhaust, power steering, front power disc brakes, highly detailed engine bay, NASA scooped hood, light blue exterior, white power convertible top with glass rear window, white top boot, 15 Magnum 500 wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, color-keyed sport mirrors, drivers remote mirror, blue bucket seat interior, center console, tilt steering column. Ready for fun in the sun! This is one beautiful Mustang Convertible! Automotive History:1973 brought some mild restyling. The urethane front bumper became standard and was enlarged in accordance with new NHTSA standards. All Mustang models had their sports lamps re-purposed as turn signals, as the new bumper covered part of the front valance (and therefore the previous turn signal location). These new lamps - unlike their 1971/72 counterparts. The 1973 model year Mustang was the final version of the original pony car, as the model name migrated to the economy, Ford Pinto-based Mustang II the next year. Convertibles were equipped with a power top and a glass rear window. The 1973 models were the last Mustangs available as a convertible until 1982- the 83 model yearThe Mustangs success left General Motors unprepared. Chrysler introduced the Plymouth Barracuda a few weeks before the Mustang, and although it was later redesigned as a distinct "pony car", it was initially a modified Plymouth Valiant. However, the "fish car" did not enjoy as strong a market demand as Fords "pony". General Motors executives thought the rear-engined Chevrolet Corvair Monza would compete against the Mustang, but it also sold poorly by comparison. The Monza performed well, but lacked a V8 engine and its reputation was tarnished by Ralph Nader in his book Unsafe At Any Speed. It took GM until the 1967 model year to counter with the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. Lincoln-Mercury joined the competition in 1966 with the Mercury Cougar, an "upmarket Mustang" and subsequent Motor Trend Car of the Year. In 1967, American Motors (AMC) introduced the Javelin, an image changing "standout" four-place pony car. In 1969, the Dodge Challenger, a version of the Plymouth Barracuda platform, was last to join the pony car race. This genre of small, sporty automobiles is often referred to as the "pony car" because of the Ford Mustang that established this market segment... Read more

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a 2-owner, super low mile 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible. The last year of the first-generation Mustang, 1973, saw several styling changes for the iconic pony car. The front bumper was enlarged to meet new NHTSA standards and was now urethane. The sport lamps were turned into turn signals since the new bumper covered the old turn signal location. A person could also order Mach 1 decals as part of the Exterior Decor Group option. This Mustang has been owned by the same individual for the last 20 years. He received it from his neighbor as a gift! I wish I had a neighbor like that. Powering this 73 Mustang is a 351 CID V8 engine, and a 3-speed automatic transmission transfers the power to the pavement. The engine and transmission are both believed to be original to the car. The odometer reads 32,486, which is believed to be the actual mileage on the car. Options for this 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Automatic Convertible Top, Hub Caps, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, and Radial Tires. The red exterior paint was resprayed and looks great. The white vinyl interior is also in good condition and provides a great color combo with the red exterior. Classic hub caps adorn all four tires and provide a great look for this pony convertible. This is a great example of an early 70 s Mustang convertible in great color combination with very low miles. Now available in our Dallas-Showroom is this spunky 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet. This was the last year for the first-generation Mustang, though it had changed vastly since its launch in 1964 as an early 1965 model. The 1973 Ford Mustang suffered another weight and size increase thanks to safety regulations. A 5-mph bumper was now required in front and a 2.5-mile bumper at the rear. The bumpers added four inches to the length of the car and 50 lbs weight. Production increased to 134,817 units, partly due to the news that there would be no convertible in the downsized model around the corner. In fact, there wouldn t be another convertible Mustang until 1985. As a result, Convertible sales doubled to 11,853. Hardtop Coupe sales led with 51,430, followed by Mach 1 at 45,440, the Grande at 25,274 and the Fastback at 10,820. Prices rose slightly, with the Hardtop costing from $2,760; Fastback at $2,820; Convertible at $3,102, Grande at $2,964, and Mach 1 at $3,088. Enough history, I m sure you re wondering about THIS 1973 Mustang Mach1 Cobra Jet. The heart to this Mustang is a 351- 4-barrel Cleveland engine creating around 266 HP and 301 Lb-ft or torque. It was rebuilt and has approximately 32,000 miles on it, since being completed. The 351C is connected to a Ford C6- Auto Transmission, which some refer to as the SelectShift-Cruise-O-Matic . Hold on tight to the steering wheel and plop down into the brown leather seats and interior, which not only looks sharp, but makes for a comfortable ride when cruising this Mach-1 around town or down the highway. While cruising, roll down the windows, step on the gas and feel free to turn on some retro or modern tunes as you ll enjoy the sound produced by the Sony speakers as both you and them cut through the wind. Other options on this Mustang include: A/C, AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, & Radial Tires. This 1973 Mustang Mach-1 will be tearing up some roads and chewing up some asphalt for a happy new owner very soon. Will this be you? 1 of only 60 made! Only 394 were made this color and of those only 60 had white interior. You wont ever see another one. Plus this car is decked out with goodies that make it a sharp looker. Only 83,000 miles, its a well cared for car. EXTERIOR: Well its fully decked out thats for sure. It has all the stripes, spoilers, enduro bumper, racing mirrors, factory slotted mags and more. They didnt make a Mach 1 convertible, but if they did this is what it would look like. Not only is the color ultra rare but it is sharp looking and very current. The body is really clean and straight. There is no bubbling along the bottoms, no signs of rust. Tap on the lower fenders and its the sound of metal. The seams along the bottom of the doors are clean. The metal flake paint is laid out evenly. The clear coat finish has been sanded and polished to look like a piece of wet candy. If you look for flaws there are some nicks on the edge of the door, there are cracks in the paint on the rubber bumper. The grill and headlight bezels and very nice shape. The windshield has been replaced, trim around the windshield is shiny and straight. The trim around the convertible is real nice. In back the bumper has been rechromed and it has the optional bumper gaurds. The trim, taillights, gas cap are real nice. The slotted mags were a Ford option. These are like new looking. The BFG tires are new. It has a black convertible top with glass window in excellent condition. Jambs are clean, weatherstrip was replaced. INTERIOR: Inside the car is not abused. The white upholstery looks good, no tears, cushions are good. Door panels are not cracked. Dash pad is mint. Entire instrument area/console is very nice, not damaged. Lenses, knobs and trim look nice. A retro Mustang stereo that fits into the factory hole was installed. It also has a factory tilt column. Seatbelts, visors, window cranks all look good. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Not show quality but very clean and respectable. The metal is all clean, no signs of rust or damage. Smooth satin black paint. The fender jambs are actually original paint with original cadium bolts. The wiring, fan shroud, battery hold down, washer bottle etc all are proper. In the middle of all this sits a 351 Cleveland big block motor. Its had some performance added with a big Holley carb sitting on an aluminum intake, MSD ignition system and headers. Very recently the valve guides, seals, and oil diffusers were replaced. New fuel pump, power steering reservoir, valve cover and oil pan gaskets. Its dressed up with chrome valve covers and air cleaner. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean original trunk compartment. It still has the original Firestone Wide Oval spare tire. Never used, the ink stamp is still on the tread. It has the jack too. The jamb still has original paint and weatherstrip in great shape. UNDERSIDE: Very respectable, not detailed show condition but the floors are clean and everything looks proper. Front end components look good. E-brake cables are hooked up, gas tank looks clean. The floors and frame rails have clean original metal, the factory seams and spotwelds are clean. It has the heavy duty C-6 trans, recently serviced including new bands. It has dual exhaust and disc brakes up front. To summarize this is a well cared for car with only 83,000 original miles. The big motor and a top that goes down make it fun to drive. It comes with a framed deluxe Marti report and original invoice that show just how rare and special this Mustang really is! When Ford introduced the Ford Mustang in 1964 an instant love affair with the American Pony Car was born. The Mustang was smaller, lighter, and more nimble that any American manufacturer had produced thus far. This coupled with its fresh design, the Ford Mustang became a must have among the American public. The 1971-1973 Mustangs offered more space and comfort than previous models, following the industry trend of personal luxury coupes. The cars were much larger, with wider tracks and wheelbase and were some of the largest Mustangs ever built.GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this nice 1973 convertible for your consideration. (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, its possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) Garage Kept Motors is pleased to present this beautifully restored 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 2-Door SportsRoof Cobra Jet for consideration. This car is originally from Texas, remains completely rust free, and underwent an expensive professional restoration in 2009. There is over $45k invested in this car! And it shows. From the factory, the car was originally finished in Medium Bright Yellow paint from the factory with Ginger Knit Vinyl interior. However, when our client acquired the car, the paint was far form bright and the interior was plain ugly. They had the body completely stripped (see photos) and painted in 1973 Ford Mustang Light Blue (code 3B) and outfitted a brand new black interior, a more suitable color combination for a Mach 1. The car was originally outfitted with the desirable 351 Cobra Jet V8 and is still powered by a period-correct engine that has been professionally rebuilt and bored .40 over for more better performance. The car does remain highly original but also has an upgraded (and functioning) ram air hood and carb. As you can see from the photos, this car has a huge folder of receipts of and stack of photos of the restoration. No expense was spared and no corners were cut in the process. According to the Marti Report, the car was ordered with the following options: Traction-Lok Differential (Posi), Convenience Group, Power Steering, Tilt Steering Wheel, Center Console, Power Disc Front Brakes, SelectAire Air Conditioning, AM/FM Stereo Radio, Mach 1 Sports Interior Option, Tinted Glass, and Forged Aluminum Wheels with Goodyear Raised White Letter Tires. We also have a full professional authentication inspection of all the numbers that we would be happy to share with an interested party. It is a desirable car with the Cobra Jet Motor and factory AC. Starts, runs, and drives like new - no excuses. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if interested or e-mail with any questions.
