We all are all attracted to the 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 because its the finale for legendary first generation. And this one preserves that memory a little better than most. With the original paint, interior, and V8, this low-mileage fastback is exactly what you want in a time capsule car. Want documentation? This coupe has all the best with a Marti Report, original window sticker, and much more! With this kind of the historical significance, the factory-correct Golden Glow seems like a fitting way to close the book on the first-generation pony car. Its believed to be the original application from the factory. So while its not perfect, it does do a great job of showing off that worn-in personality that instantly lets people know you have a survivor car. More than just history, you want this because its an aggressive-looking Mach 1 fastback. That means a blacked-out hood with NACA ducts, black stripe package, rear window slats, rear spoiler, and even an upgrade to a premium black vinyl roof. So this is the one that pleases the historians and the muscle car crowds all at once! Inside is more of the time capsule feeling. It starts with the ginger seats finished with cool ComfortWeave inserts. Its the kind of design that could only come from the 1970s, and so its great to still see them this complete today. All the other pieces from the carpets, to the dash pad, to the door panels all follow this earthy tone. So for those of you who want something else than muscle car black, this is a terrific way to stand out from the crowd. And because the Mach 1 was a premium package from Ford, you got plenty of wood inserts, which happen to follow this total color theme quite nicely. Plus, there are other great premium features, like the center console armrest and factory AM/FM stereo. But as a true drivers machine, you get the right features, too. This includes a rim-blow three-spoke sports steering wheel, and a full gauge panel with large speedo and tach. Under the hood is exactly what you want to see, a 351 cubic-inch Cleveland V8. And this H-code Mustang shows off its numbers-matching motor with great originality, right down to the bold blue valve covers and factory decals. You can see from the level of care and maintenance that this is a cherished Mach 1, and it has averaged less than 850 miles annually! Out on the road, this is a smooth cruiser as the V8 delivers plenty of power through the original FMX three-speed automatic transmission. Plus, with power steering, front disc brakes, and BF Goodrich T/As, this significant Stang is easy to show off anywhere. This fantastic survivor also comes with all the right paperwork. This includes copies of the following: window sticker, dealer invoice, bill of sale, title documentation, factory buildsheet, and Marti Report to verify it all. It also comes with a copy of the owners manual. So if youre looking for standout preservation on your classic, dont let this pony go into someone elses stable. Call now!

Ready for fun in the sun! This is one beautiful Mustang Convertible! Automotive History:1973 brought some mild restyling. The urethane front bumper became standard and was enlarged in accordance with new NHTSA standards. All Mustang models had their sports lamps re-purposed as turn signals, as the new bumper covered part of the front valance (and therefore the previous turn signal location). These new lamps - unlike their 1971/72 counterparts. The 1973 model year Mustang was the final version of the original pony car, as the model name migrated to the economy, Ford Pinto-based Mustang II the next year. Convertibles were equipped with a power top and a glass rear window. The 1973 models were the last Mustangs available as a convertible until 1982- the 83 model yearThe Mustangs success left General Motors unprepared. Chrysler introduced the Plymouth Barracuda a few weeks before the Mustang, and although it was later redesigned as a distinct "pony car", it was initially a modified Plymouth Valiant. However, the "fish car" did not enjoy as strong a market demand as Fords "pony". General Motors executives thought the rear-engined Chevrolet Corvair Monza would compete against the Mustang, but it also sold poorly by comparison. The Monza performed well, but lacked a V8 engine and its reputation was tarnished by Ralph Nader in his book Unsafe At Any Speed. It took GM until the 1967 model year to counter with the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. Lincoln-Mercury joined the competition in 1966 with the Mercury Cougar, an "upmarket Mustang" and subsequent Motor Trend Car of the Year. In 1967, American Motors (AMC) introduced the Javelin, an image changing "standout" four-place pony car. In 1969, the Dodge Challenger, a version of the Plymouth Barracuda platform, was last to join the pony car race. This genre of small, sporty automobiles is often referred to as the "pony car" because of the Ford Mustang that established this market segment

Now available in our Dallas-Showroom is this spunky 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet. This was the last year for the first-generation Mustang, though it had changed vastly since its launch in 1964 as an early 1965 model. The 1973 Ford Mustang suffered another weight and size increase thanks to safety regulations. A 5-mph bumper was now required in front and a 2.5-mile bumper at the rear. The bumpers added four inches to the length of the car and 50 lbs weight. Production increased to 134,817 units, partly due to the news that there would be no convertible in the downsized model around the corner. In fact, there wouldn t be another convertible Mustang until 1985. As a result, Convertible sales doubled to 11,853. Hardtop Coupe sales led with 51,430, followed by Mach 1 at 45,440, the Grande at 25,274 and the Fastback at 10,820. Prices rose slightly, with the Hardtop costing from $2,760; Fastback at $2,820; Convertible at $3,102, Grande at $2,964, and Mach 1 at $3,088. Enough history, I m sure you re wondering about THIS 1973 Mustang Mach1 Cobra Jet. The heart to this Mustang is a 351- 4-barrel Cleveland engine creating around 266 HP and 301 Lb-ft or torque. It was rebuilt and has approximately 32,000 miles on it, since being completed. The 351C is connected to a Ford C6- Auto Transmission, which some refer to as the SelectShift-Cruise-O-Matic . Hold on tight to the steering wheel and plop down into the brown leather seats and interior, which not only looks sharp, but makes for a comfortable ride when cruising this Mach-1 around town or down the highway. While cruising, roll down the windows, step on the gas and feel free to turn on some retro or modern tunes as you ll enjoy the sound produced by the Sony speakers as both you and them cut through the wind. Other options on this Mustang include: A/C, AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, & Radial Tires. 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible 1973 brought the last year of the big Mustang. It was to be replaced by a smaller, lighter breed, therefore, most of the changes for 73 were merely cosmetic. This year was to become the last Mustang Convertible for many years. For consignment a 1973 2-Door Convertible version in good to fair condition. Owned by the same family since new, this car underwent a respray in 2011, and had a new carburetor put on in 2015. Showing normal wear, this car has fairly low mileage for its age. Exterior Wimbledon White was resprayed in 2011 and is in good condition. A large, square, chrome headlamp bezel is seen and is correct for this year, and a color keyed urethane front bumper has replaced the chrome units of the previous years. The front parking lights are now placed vertically in the front grille. A new, grained, black applique with bright trim was placed on the rear body panel between the tail lights, as chrome trim around the tail lights now is present. Standard polished 5-spoke Mustang logo wheels are wrapped by Goodyear Eagles and are seen all around. The black convertible top appears in good condition. Interior Trim CA denotes black knitted vinyl high back buckets that flank a large center console storage glove box which makes its way from the back bench in matching trim, to the bottom of the dash and includes the ashtray, automatic shifter and a Mustang clock. Making its way vertically in the center of the dash are an AM/FM/Cassette radio, and climate controls. Circular gauges are inset at a raked angle on the drivers side of the dash and are fronted by an aftermarket leather wrapped steering wheel. A switch for the power convertible top is seen and is in working condition. Door panels are in good condition, and show some wear with time, as do what is assumed black carpet which has faded to dark brown throughout. Drivetrain An 8-cylinder 351ci Cobra Jet Engine sits within an unrestored and original engine bay. Attached is a C-6 automatic transmission, which puts power back to a 3.25:1 rear axle. Undercarriage Some surface rust is seen peeking through the original undercoating, particularly in the rocker panel areas. Also surface rust is seen under the drivers and passenger doors. Otherwise underside is fairly clean with some patina on surfaces. A one family owned Mustang in mostly good to some fair condition, unrestored but resprayed version which runs great, starts easily, and shifts smoothly. Could be a daily driver, or a restoration project, either way the basics are here for a fair price.
