Autumn Majestic 2023 - Day 3 - Live Auction
Starts: Nov 12, 2023 at 11 AM EST
Thomaston, Maine
PREVIEW: NOV 4-9, (Sat 12-4pm, Mon-Thurs 9am-4pm, Closed Sunday)
We are very lucky Maine holds such natural beauty during the autumnal season. Changing colors of reds, oranges, golds, the scent of apple cider in the air, warm coffee against that chilly breeze… what better way to celebrate the end of fall with our final feature auction beholden to such beauty, “Autumn Majestic.” We hope you can join us for this opportunity to acquire a special piece for your personal collection. On Sunday, featured artwork will include pieces by Andrew Winter, Clare Ferriter, William Manning, Joan Savo, A.R. Penck, Waldo Peirce, Childe Hassam, R. Emmett Owen, Pablo Picasso, and Marsden Hartley. This day will also offer important works by Maine artists, such as a rare commissioned folding screen with pug dogs by Dahlov Ipcar. Other featured Maine artists will include Wesley Elbridge Webber, John Bisbee, Stephen Etnier, Andrew Wyeth, Eric Hopkins, John Marin, and Robert Indiana. On this day, we will sell 5 vintage automobiles, including a 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk and a 1964 Dodge 880 Custom Sedan. The 40-lot of estate jewelry & watch collection will offer a selection of gem-set rings, including an Edwardian platinum engagement and wedding ring set; plus, a handmade 18K gold Mughal necklace with pearls, emeralds and rubies. There will also be a rare 20th c. coin-operated Nickelodeon by Stultz & Co., and a delightful collection of acoustic guitars. The furniture category will feature a fine selection of mid-century modern furniture by designers like John Hutton, Milo Baughman, Sam Resnick and others. Finally, there will be a 19th c. cherry carved library table, and an early 20th c. Art Nouveau Pairpoint lamp with painted bamboo and lily designs.
