For nearly half a century, the New England Auto Auction™ has served as a cornerstone event at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, connecting collectors and enthusiasts with some of the finest vintage and specialty automobiles in the country. Now entering its 48th year, this nationally-recognized auction remains one of the only museum-based auctions of its kind—and it continues to grow in scope and reputation with each passing year.
But this event is more than an auction. It’s a mission in motion. The New England Auto Auction™ is the Museum’s largest annual fundraiser, generating critical funding to support our mission to collect, preserve, exhibit, and operate pre-1940 aircraft, ground vehicles, engines, and related technologies significant to the evolution of transportation—all for the purpose of public education and engagement.
In recent years, the auction’s impact has extended far beyond our historic collections. Thanks to growing support, the Museum has expanded its hands-on learning experiences for students of all ages through dynamic STEM-based programming. In spring 2025, we opened the doors to a brand-new STEM Center, designed to further inspire the next generation of innovators, mechanics, and engineers. Your support of the auction directly fuels these exciting educational opportunities.
