Dealer Overview

For 40 years now, January is collector car auction month in the Valley of the Sun, with as many as 7 different auctions selling over $100 million in vintage vehicles. The "Scottsdale International Auto Museum" is the new kid on the (auction) block and was the first off the line this year hosting a collector car auction with over 200 vehicles on January 1st & 2nd 2011. The new Scottsdale International Auto Museum (a 501c3 non-profit) opened during December at the Scottsdale Pavilions (Az-101 & Indian Bend Road). Housed in the 75,000 square foot former Mervyns Department store located on the south side of Indian Bend Road behind the 5 & Diner restaurant. This unique family-oriented car museum will showcase up to 150 vintage vehicles on a rotating basis and provides lots of spaces for corporate and charity events, parties, car club meetings and assorted special events. It also features the world's largest museum gift shop and a themed cafe. The new high-tech high-speed "Tesla" electric sports car will be on display there too and available for free test rides during the month of January. You can meet-up with your friends, tour the museum and then car-pool over to Barrett-Jackson, R-M, Gooding's, Russo & Steele, or the Silver Auctions. Please note that the Scottsdale Pavilions McDonalds parking lot will be completely full of collector cars by 8am this Saturday morning, but we will have almost 400 more parking places available for collector car parking out in front of the museum. So now there will be almost 1000 collector cars for you to see at the world's largest weekly free car show every Saturday at the Scottsdale Pavilions. The Arizona T-Bucket Club and the Arizona Rod & Classic Car Club will be the Museums featured car club's at this Friday and Saturday's Collector Car Cruise-In's with special reserved parking out in front of the museum and a few of their cars will be displayed inside the museum. Also, all of the featured car club members will have full-access to the museum areas and free admission to the concert and dance inside the museums expo area too. If the Museums Collector Car Cruise-In's out in the front parking lot isn't enough to get you all revved up, the museum will be featuring live music inside the museums expo area where you can dance the night away surrounded by some very rare million-dollar collector cars. On Friday night, from around 6pm to 9pm, the museum will feature the Big Band sounds of Marlin Zimmerman from the Packard Club, and, on Saturday night, from around 5pm to 8pm, the Higher Power Band featured at the Cruise on Central Ave. and at many of Nancy Perry's car shows will be playing the oldies, Motown and classic rock inside the museums expo area. If you should decide to come inside the museum to enjoy the great music and dance on the marble dance-floor in their large expo area, the museum will be requesting a $10.00 donation per adult (kids under 16 are free) to help cover the expenses of these two excellent professional bands who are generously discounting their usual fees for the non-profit museum and this admission price will also include full-access to all areas of the museum too. There is nowhere in Scottsdale that you can get as much value for your hard-earned dollar as at this new museum. So cruise on over to the new Scottsdale International Auto Museum for the cars and the camaraderie, and then stay for the great music. Remember to bring the grand-parents along too and maybe they will teach you and your kids how to "jitter-bug". I hope to see you and your family there.
