With so many iconic cars and significant achievements throughout the past 75 years, Porsche rightfully celebrates the companys heritage by offering its most dedicated followers limited-production models inspired by their most beloved and sought-after creations. Cars like the 911 R, the several generations of Speedsters, and the original type 997 Sport Classic have all offered modern performance with a flair of well-executed pastiche.

In 2020 Porsche revealed the latest creation to celebrate the firms legacy, the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. Evoking the companys products from the 1950s and 1960s, this special-edition model from Porsches Exclusive Manufaktur program was limited to just 992 examples and offered in four exterior colors inspired by the era. However, paint-to-sample orders were made available to special clientele in very small numbers, like the example on offer.

Completed in April 2021, this unique 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is pleasingly finished in paint-to-sample Oslo Blue, which was first made available as a color for the Porsche 356 back in 1955. Contrasting white graphics attractively follow the front fenders into the headlights, while a number roundel and Porsche lettering above the skirts further establish the vehicles retro livery. Oslo Blue wheel lips and exhaust tips provide a distinct modern touch to the exterior. Further, this cars exterior badges have been rendered in a bright Gold Metallic, which perfectly completes the vehicles homage to the companys earliest creations.

Moving inward, the cabin of this wonderfully composed 911 Targa 4S has been trimmed in full leather. Elaborating on the mid-century design inspirations, a two-tone scheme employs Bordeaux Red hides for the upper dashboard, steering wheel, column, and gunnel area, while the remaining surfaces are finished in Atacama Beige. Perhaps the most stylish detail, corduroy inserts on the seats and door cards provide a tactile connection to the past. Lastly, the center armrest and seat headrests have been tastefully embossed with Porsche Heritage Design badges. Additional factory options of note include the Sport Chrono package, PDLS+ headlamps, adaptive sport seats, rear axle steering, Porsche InnoDrive, and a Bose surround sound system. Under the hood lies a personal touch in the form of a group of signatures understood to be from Porsche employees.

This car was originally sold via Rusnak/Pasadena Porsche in California and subsequently registered in the state of Hawaii, a perfect environment for this open-top sports car. Now under the care of its third owner, this 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition is offered with just 2,318 miles currently indicated at the time of cataloguing. A brilliant modern interpretation of Porsches illustrious past, this special Targa, with its rare paint-to-sample livery, will no doubt thrill its next caretaker.
