2021 Chevrolet Corvette

The C8 Corvette represented the most significant change in the cars 68-year history. After seven generations of front-engine Corvettes, Chevrolet moved the engine behind the driver, fulfilling a goal that legendary Corvette engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov had first pursued in 1960. The result was a car that hit 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds with the Z51 package and the quarter mile in 11.2, numbers that put it on equal footing with Ferrari and McLaren models costing three to five times as much. This one is finished in Shadow Gray Metallic, a color that made up only 4 percent of C8 production and was retired entirely after the 2021 model year, meaning it cannot be ordered on any new Corvette. It was taken delivery of in the summer of 2021 and has been maintained in detailed condition since day one.

Under the hood is the 6.2 liter LT2 V8 producing 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with the performance exhaust, backed by the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. The Z51 package brings the rear performance axle, electronic limited slip differential, Z51 suspension with magnetic selective ride control, Z51 brakes, high performance tires, Z51 rear spoiler, performance exhaust, and heavy-duty cooling system. The 39/61 front-to-rear weight distribution gives this car a traction and handling advantage that no front-engine Corvette could match.

Inside, the 2LT package brings the GT2 bucket seats, and the car was ordered with torch red seatbelts, bright red painted brake calipers, and carbon flash painted exterior mirrors, 19 and 20 inch carbon flash aluminum wheels, and a battery protection package. An Edge red engine cover and GM black lug nuts add the finishing details. Both factory key fobs, the original build sheet, and the original window sticker come with the car along with service records and a clean Carfax.

Shadow Gray is gone from the order sheet and will not come back. A fully documented, meticulously cared for Z51 2LT in a retired color with this level of factory optioning is exactly the kind of C8 that the collector market is beginning to pay serious attention to.
