2019 Subaru WRX

In our showroom, one usually finds classic Porsche or Mercedes. Once in a while, we get something different. And VERY fun. This is a 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA, which is a limited-edition, high-performance variant of the standard STI, built to celebrate Subarus Nrburgring record-breaking run with a specially prepared WRX STI. Only 500 units were produced for the U.S. market. This is #401 of those. The Type RA is a rare and highly collectible model, featuring a plaque on the center console indicating its production number. This example shows only 5500 miles, and is equipped with a handful of very high quality modifications - and the original parts. Under the hood, its powered by the familiar 2.5L turbocharged flat-four engine, but with a slight bump to 310 horsepower (up from 305 hp) thanks to an ECU tweak and a revised cold-air intake from the factory. The 6-speed manual transmission features a short-throw shifter and a revised 3rd gear ratio for quicker acceleration. Power is delivered to all four wheels through Subarus Symmetrical AWD system, enhanced by the Driver-Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) for customizable handling. To improve performance, Subaru focused on weight reduction. The carbon-fiber roof lowers the center of gravity, while lightweight BBS 19-inch forged alloy wheels reduce unsprung mass. The spare tire was removed to shed additional weight. On the handling side, this example has been upgraded with an Ohlins DFV adjustable coilover suspension setup. The factory Bilstein suspension is included in the sale. Brembo brakes with cross-drilled rotors and gold-painted calipers stop the Type RA on a dime. The OEM factory wheels and tires from the Type RA are included in the sale. Currently on the car is a more forgiving setup - Subaru BBS 10-spoke 18s with Continental Extreme Contact 245/40 ZR18. The factory exhaust was replaced by a great-sounding Invidia Gemini 400 Catback setup. Again, the original exhaust comes with the sale. Visually, the Type RA stands out with Cherry Blossom Red accents on the grille and rear bumper, along with Type RA badging and black STI logos. A large carbon-fiber rear wing adds aggressive styling and provides adjustable downforce. Inside, the cabin features Recaro sport seats with red bolsters and STI stitching, giving it a race-inspired feel. With only 5500 miles, there are just a handful of records, and a clean Carfax.
