This 2018 Ford Mustang is #65 of 68 50th Anniversary Cobra Jet turn-key race cars produced by Ford Performance to commemorate the 1968 debut of the Mustang Cobra Jet. Power is supplied by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 paired with a T4 three-speed racing transmission and a 9 Strange Engineering rear axle, and additional equipment includes a parachute, a wheelie bar, an NHRA-certified roll cage, a carbon-fiber hood, forged-aluminum RC Components wheels, Strange Engineering calipers and adjustable coilover suspension, a RacePak digital dashboard display, and Racetech fixed-back seats. Acquired by the owner in November of 2019 from Rock River Ford in Rockford Illinois, this Cobra Jet is now offered on a bill of sale in and original invoice from the dealer. This vehicle has been started regularly but never driven down the dragstrip.
Each 50th Anniversary Cobra Jet Mustang was modified by Ford Performance, and this example is finished in Oxford White. Features include a carbon-fiber hood, a parachute and wheelie bar, a bumper-mounted battery kill switch, and Cobra Jet side graphics and badging.
forged-aluminum RC Components wheels measure 4 in width up front and 10 wide out back and are accented by commemorative dates and Cobra Jet lettering. They are mounted with Mickey Thompson ET competition tires, and the car is equipped with Strange Engineering two-way adjustable coilover suspension and multi-piston calipers fitted over slotted rotors.
