2018 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante

The partnership between Aston Martin and Carrozzeria Zagato is among the most enduring and celebrated in the world of high-performance motoring. Their relationship began with the legendary DB4 GT Zagato of 1960, a car that combined British engineering with dramatic Italian coachwork and has since become one of the most coveted sports cars of its era. In 2016, the partnership was renewed once again with the unveiling of the Vanquish Zagato at Villa dEste. The response was immediate and enthusiastic, prompting Aston Martin to announce a limited run for the four body styles: Coupe, Speedster, Shooting Brake, and Volante. Each variant was crafted with a carbon fiber body and built on the foundation of the Vanquish S, powered by a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 producing 592 horsepower, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and capable of effortless, confident performance.

The Vanquish Zagato Volante, revealed later that year at the Pebble Beach Concours dElegance, offered open-air touring with the same striking silhouette and unmistakable Zagato character. Its elegant design featured blade-style LED tail lamps inspired by the Vulcan, a dramatic twin-hump rear deck, and subtle Z-motifs integrated throughout the design. The power-operated soft top folds neatly beneath the rear cowls, maintaining the flowing lines of the bodywork whether raised or stowed.

This car, number 1 of the 99 Zagato Volantes built, is believed to be one of only a dozen examples delivered new to the United States. Finished in elegant Orient Blue with a navy soft top over a Centenary Saddle Tan leather interior, it is exceptionally well specified. The original owner commissioned over $50,000 in options, including approximately $40,000 of bespoke enhancements through the Q by Aston Martin program. Highlights include walnut veneer trim, unique seat and interior patterns, and a One-77-inspired steering wheel that adds a motorsport-derived touch to the luxurious cabin.

Having covered just 2,713 miles from new, this Zagato Volante remains in superb condition throughout. In July 2023, it received a comprehensive five-year service and inspection, including fresh fluids, replacement of the spark plugs, purge control solenoid, and audio amplifier, as well as servicing of the deployable rear spoiler motor. The car presents beautifully and drives accordingly, with strong mechanical integrity and a deep sense of refinement.
