Classic Car Overview

2016 Porsche 911R VIN: WP0AF2A95GS195370 911 miles - Like new condition! One of 291 examples produced for U.S market, 991 worldwide 500 horsepower 4.0L flat-six engine 6-speed GT Sport manual transmission, Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) Over $20,000 in options, including Front axle lift, black leather interior, LED headlights, and 18-way power seats 50th anniversary of Porsches original 911R Includes original window sticker, owners manuals, tools, compressor, floor mats With dual-clutch transmissions sweeping through their top-tier lineup, Porsche announced that the GT3 and GT3 RS would no longer be offered with a row-your-own manual transmission. An uproar ensued throughout the Porsche driving community, voicing that by removing the manual option they were removing one of the best and most engaging features when driving a Porsche. To quell the flames, Porsche announced a car to celebrate an anniversary fifty years in the making, the 2016 Porsche 911R. Limited to 291 units in the U.S., and just 991 worldwide, the new Porsche 911R was created to honor the anniversary of the legendary 1967 Porsche 911R. Drawing inspiration from a mythical model built 50 years prior, these new 911s carry many of the same principles and design characteristics that made the original R so formidable. High power, low weight, razor sharp handling, all tightly wound into one cohesive package. Available initially only to Porsche 918 owners, the 911Rs sold out immediately, and would become a lust-worthy 911 variant that is both a highly prized collectible, and Porsche driving enthusiasts holy grail. This 2016 Porsche 911R produced in December of 2016 and was optioned with Bruces favorite GT silver metallic paint color and a stunning Black leather interior, stitched in GT silver, with the total options list ticking an extra $20,425 to the MSRP. This is my favorite color on a 911R. Its timeless, and perfectly suits the design style on these cars says Bruce Canepa. 911Rs came heavily equipped with standard equipment, including options such as Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) and rear axle steering. However, the first owner checked options including an Extended Range Fuel Tank (23.9 gallons), Heated Front Seats, Front Axle Lift system, Air Conditioning, Sport Chrono Package, Bose Surround Sound System, Sirius XM radio with NavTraffic, Adaptive Sports Seats Plus (18 way), Auto-dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor, LED headlights in black with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), SportDesign Exterior mirror upper trim in carbon fiber, door sill guards in carbon fiber and illuminated, and more. Total MSRP with options came out to $207,675. The first owner took delivery of the car at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta per the original window sticker, with the 2nd owner purchasing the car in 2018. Like the owner before him, he drove it sparingly and had it maintained at his Porsche dealership in Arizona. Its not hard to imagine why the car looks in as-new condition, when Canepa acquired the 911R in 2022 it only had 555 miles on the odometer. Upon arriving at Canepa, the 911R received a few subtle upgrades that Bruce Canepa is known for adding to 911Rs. This included a new set of OEM Porsche clear tail lights and side markers, and also refinishing the aluminum alloy wheels in the Canepa 959SC magnesium graphite matte coating, and removing the original stripes. This is described as the Canepa 911R look . The 911R sold shortly after arriving at Canepa, as these special edition 911s never stay still for too long. The owner then kept it in their possession for a couple of years, adding only approximately 356 miles. Retaining its original owners manuals and maintenance booklet, spare keys, original window sticker, and tools, this incredibly well optioned 911R still presents as it did upon delivery when new. My favorite contemporary 911, says Bruce Canepa. Now available at Canepa for the next owner looking for one of the most thrilling 911 driving experiences ever made, the 911R will go down in history books as one of the finest factory Porsches created. Ready to be driven and enjoyed, the 911R is the perfect combination of performance, comfort, and motorsports heritage. About the Porsche 911R The 911R plays host to some of the most advanced motorsport technology available, resulting in one of the best street cars Porsche has ever produced. Lightweight body panels made from carbon fiber and magnesium bring down weight to racecar levels of 3,021 pounds. One of the highlights of the 911R is its slick 6-speed GT Sport manual transmission, unlike the 6 and 7-speed transmissions found in many modern 911s, it is more precise and likened to the bolt-action of a rifle when shifting. The 500 horsepower, naturally aspirated 4.0 liter flat-six engine also makes an appearance in the R, unchanged from the GT3RS with maximum power available at 8,250rpm. While the 911R focuses on being as pure as a high performance 911 can be, the interior is far from being stripped down. Youll find exquisite leather on surfaces throughout. One of the unique characteristics that sets the R apart is the ability to hear the mechanical noises from within the interior. With only light noise dampening, you can listen with delight as the mechanicals work in concert, giving a raw experience that no other street 911 can.
