Classic Car Overview
Under the hood, the Z/28 packs a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine, derived from the Corvette Z06. This hand-built powerplant produces 505 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque, mated exclusively to a 6-speed Tremec manual transmission. No automatic option, no compromise---just pure driver engagement.
The Z/28 isnt just about straight-line speed. It was stripped of non-essential components like sound deadening, air conditioning (optional), and even the standard stereo (a single-speaker system is standard), in favor of lighter weight and better handling. It features carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes, a track-tuned suspension with Multimatic DSSV dampers.
Exterior enhancements include a functional front splitter, rear spoiler, flared fenders, and a deep front fascia designed for maximum aerodynamic downforce and cooling. Inside, the cabin is minimalist but functional, equipped with Recaro sport seats and suede trim for grip and comfort during spirited driving.
The Z/28 is not a daily driver---its a track weapon for purists. With a Nrburgring lap time that rivals European supercars, the Z/28 proved that American muscle could dance with the best.
