Classic Car Overview
2013 Chevrolet Camaro 2LT Hot Wheel Edition As one of the first Sweet 16 Hot Wheels cars produced in 1968, the original Custom Camaro is also one of the most sought-after by collectors. Forty-five years later, it seems fitting that the first full-size, factory-built Hot Wheels car available for sale is the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro SS Hot Wheels Special Edition. Growing up as car junkies, we all played with Hot Wheels at some point in our lives some of us actually still do. Yeah, Hot Wheels pretty much recreated every car under the sun in miniature form, but we only really wanted the cool ones. You know, the Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, etc. Now that we are all big boys and girls, playing with Hot Wheels cars really isnt in the cards at least its not necessarily accepted. That is until Chevy and Hot Wheels got together and created a special edition Camaro, dubbed the 2013 Camaro Hot Wheels Edition. For the most part, the Hot Wheels Edition is purely an aesthetic thing, but with the Camaros impressive performance across the board, a few extra goodies on the inside and outside is good enough for most of us. -Thx To Motortrend & Topspeed.com For consignment, a first year, 2013 edition of the collaboration between General Motors and Mattel. This special edition Camaro is the first ever full size Hot Wheels car offered for sale by any auto manufacturer. Features include: Kinetic Blue Metallic paint, (a throwback to the spectraflame of yore), 21 iconic red striped wheels, a black leather trimmed interior with red stitching, a black stripe treatment, and Hot Wheels badging on the fenders, trunk and seats, along with many other installed optioned goodies this is a fantastic toy in full scale fun. Plus, there are only 804 original miles on this #252 of 263 built 2LT equipped pony car. Exterior Kinetic Blue Metallic, it certainly wont make you feel blue at all. How could it with wonderful spectraflame style paint? And lets throw on a ground effects package, some satin black stripes, a unique grille with a red stripe surround, a gold bowtie and the iconic flamed Hot Wheels logo, and a body matching rear spoiler. Part of the Hot Wheels edition is the RS package, which gives HID headlights with LED halo rings, body colored ditch molding on the roof, and the shark fin antenna mounted on the rear of the roof. Big satin black machined wheels, (21 inches), with red striping and polished highlights are on all 4 corners and wear the factory installed rubber. Its looking like it could fit right in on that orange plastic track, with the loop de loop, and high banked curves. This toy, though, does not require the stations that the smaller versions needed to go through. These stations sported the foam wheels that would propel the cars around the plastic track. A black rocker panel aiding the ground effects encircles this car all around on the bottom, and of course monstrous rotors and calipers can be seen through those big wheels. Interior Pure sex could be some words to describe this snappy interior, all bathed in black matte leather, and sporting some carefully placed red stitching is just retro beautiful. High back buckets, still in their plastic wrappers from the factory, present with black tuck and roll inserts and black bolsters complete with red stitching and the Hot Wheels flame logo in their centers, and it is all serious rock and roll on this interior. Rear 2 plus 2s in back and just beautifully molded curved leather and plastic with more red stitching form this interior accenting, dash and console, with all molded in controls, backlit gauges, and a center Chevrolet My Link 8-inch screen stereo, navi, backup cam, Sirius capable, Bluetooth connectivity, and other goodies to keep you distracted with your fingers. Paddle shifters are included on the column, and all this floating in black carpeting. Simple yet very visually effective, very HOT...wheels-esque. Drivetrain Under the hood is a 3.6 liter V6 that will pump out 323 horses. This mill has EFI and a 6-speed automatic 6L50 transmission with a 3.27 differential on back. As mentioned earlier the transmission can be left to shift itself or be shifted semi-automatically with the paddle shifters behind the leather wrapped steering wheel. Undercarriage Like new as expected, but note variable ratio power steering, performance suspension with MacPherson Struts upfront, and a multi-link in back. Power disc brakes are on all 4 corners and a like new dual exhaust is mounted on with all the ground effects panels. Drive-Ability Like sitting atop the hill on the orange track awaiting the holding gate to fall so I could propel myself down through the super dooper looper, and around the banked curves, racing to the wheel house to get more speed...but I digress, in reality it was much more exciting, with great acceleration from those 323 horses, fantastic handling, and the various modes give a totally different driving feel with each selection. Solid braking, and the leather wrapped steering wheel is just the right size for quick turning. Lets just say this car crushed it on the test track! Those smaller toys were great on that orange track, but this version is definitely juiced, sexy looking, and designed to look and cook. Many extra features on this Hot Wheels Anniversary edition, plus the super low miles and even a 1/64th scale accompanies it from Mattel, making it the ultimate adult toy.
