This 2012 Shelby 1000 S/C is a result of Carroll Shelbys idea to build a 1000 horsepower street race car in very limited production to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Cobra. Finally in 2012, the production of this car proved viable. Initially it is reported that 50 cars were planned. According to Shelby America, there were two prototype/concept examples built, and then 19 production cars produced in 2012. Additionally, there were 4 produced in 2013 and 4 in 2014. This example is the third car built, and the first of the 19 production cars built in 2012 with Shelby Identification CSM2SM0003. These cars began as a new Shelby GT500 and transformed into the Shelby 1000R package, and are the last car designed by Carroll Shelby. In 2012, this conversion cost $154,999 plus car.

This example has only 334 original miles and is finished in Race Red with Shelby 1000 graphics. It features a carbon-fiber hood, rear valance, front and rear spoilers, and rocker panels. HID headlights, hood vents, and polished exhaust outlets.

It is powered by a hand-assembled 5.4-liter V8 was fitted with the following components as part of the Shelby 1000 S/C package: Shelby Kenne Bell liquid cooled supercharger with a revised inlet pipe and mass airflow meter, Shelby connecting rods, bearings, pistons, and rings, Shelby blower grind camshafts, Shelby Stage 3 ported cylinder heads, Revised valve springs and titanium retainers, Shelby oil pump and high-capacity oil pan, Shelby main and head studs, High-performance fuel pumps and injectors, American Racing exhaust headers and X-pipe and 3 inch Borla cat back exhaust. High-custom capacity cooling system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a Shelby-specification limited-slip 9 inch differential with a fluid cooler. Additional equipment fitted as part of the Shelby 1000 S/C package included a fabricated aluminum driveshaft with a safety loop along with a billet transmission support and a twin-disc clutch. Shelby-branded six-piston front and four-piston rear Wilwood calipers over slotted and drilled rotors. Suspension enhancements include a Shelby K-member, front controls arms, camber and caster plates, and a revised rear suspension. It rolls on Forged Shelby wheels 20x9 front, and 20x11 rear, mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 255/35 up front and 295/35 in the rear.

The interior features Recaro front sport seats upholstered in Charcoal Black Leather with embroidered Shelby 1000 logos on the backrests. Coordinating rear seat and door panels. Black console, carpet and dash. Touchscreen infotainment, navigation, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Power windows, power door locks, cruise control, full and auxiliary gauges and a Shaker audio system. A plaque mounted ahead of the shifter displays a Carroll Shelby signature and a serial number of 12SM0003.
