Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG featured the long bonnet, curvaceous rear, and statement gullwing doors so associated with its iconic 300 SL ancestor. Despite those nostalgic styling cues, it still broke new ground for the marque. Not only was the coup the first model to be designed and built entirely in-house by the Mercedes-AMG performance division based in Affalterbach, Germany, but it also launched with the most powerful naturally aspirated series production engine in the world at the time. The thunderous 6.2-litre V-8 was rated at 563 horsepower to edge ahead of the Ferrari 458 Italia by a small, but no less significant, one horsepower.
The single-owner example offered here was configured in the metallic shade of Middle Gray Himalayas over a Sand Designo Exclusive leather interior. The cabin further benefits from an AMG Performance steering wheel, open-pore silver ash wood trim on the centre console, aluminium accents, and the high-end sound system. Additional specification highlights include the AMG ceramic brake system, a rearview camera, sports suspension, automatic climate control, plus the memory package for the seats, steering column, and mirrors.
Holding a 20 September 2010 date of delivery, the SLS AMG was purchased new by the consigning owner in Monaco and registered for road use the following month. Per an accompanying Mercedes-Benz maintenance history report (available to view on file), this car visited an official marque dealership for servicing on 10 occasions between April 2012 and May 2025. Three of those were performed by Wiesenthal & Co of Vienna, Austria. The remainder were completed in Monaco by the SAMGF franchise. Invoices from the most recent service, which covered renewing the engine oil and filter plus a brake fluid change, note the car as then showing 10,458 kilometres.
Sparingly driven since, the SLS AMG displayed just 10,577 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing.
