The convertible counterpart to the hyper grand tourer designed by the great Gordon Murray, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster was confined to a modest production run of circa only 520 examples. Sharing the coups 5.4-litre supercharged V-8 engine that directly inhales through the integrated Three-Pointed Star bonnet emblem, a mighty 617 horsepower is delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission.
The car offered here was built to 2008 model year specification, marked completed on 1 September 2008. The car was not shipped until 2010, however, and was first registered in Germany in June 2010. It was beautifully specified from new with Crystal Laurit Silver Metallic paintwork, a Gray soft-top roof with a fabric-carbon fibre look, and a Black and Anthracite Exclusive leather interior. Notable equipment includes the extra large-sized driver and passenger seats that feature woven leather centres and the embossed SLR logo, carbon trim, plus the models signature 19-inch turbine wheels.
Having resided in its home country of Germany throughout its life, this SLR McLaren Roadster has most recently formed a cherished part of The Silver Star Collection and now awaits its next custodian.
