Synonymous with bespoke engineering, exquisite execution, and ultimate performance for more than 50 years, RUF Automobile GmbH crossed a milestone in 2004 with the introduction of the new Rt12 model. Although still based upon Porsches 997-generation 911 platform, the model represented the first to be otherwise constructed entirely in-house by RUF. Five years later, the Rt12 S arrived. An additional 200 cc took capacity of the flat-six up to 3.8 litres, from which RUF extracted some 676 horsepower.
This particular example was specified with four-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. It was further refined with ceramic brakes, an integrated rollcage, aluminium doors, 19-inch wheels, and a carbon fibre engine cover and rear wing. Remarkably, the car remained in RUFs ownership until 2015, when it was acquired by the consigning owner. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer read 40,208 kilometres.
Accompanied by its service book displaying six service stamps, the last barely 1,500 kilometres ago and a RUF Certificate of Authenticity, it remains arguably the high-water mark of Porsche 911-derived design and would form a fitting centrepiece for any significant performance car collection.
