Let us tell you a little about what it means to have the heads redone on a 2008 Corvette Z06, were referring to the cylinder heads of the 7.0L LS7 engine being rebuilt or modified. This is a common procedure for LS7 engines because they had known issues with valve guide wear, which could lead to catastrophic engine failure if the driver drives with excessive force or runs over 180mph. The primary concern was excessive wear on the valve guides, which could cause the valves to drop into the combustion chamber, resulting in having to rebuild the engine. To address this challenge, a proper rebuild typically includes replacing the valve guides, installing new valve seats to ensure proper sealing, and sometimes performing porting and polishing to improve airflow and performance. Additionally, some rebuilds involve upgrading the valves and springs with aftermarket or stronger OEM parts to enhance durability. Milling or resurfacing the cylinder heads may also be performed to ensure a flat surface for a proper head gasket seal. This rebuild was done by RPM performance and we have all documentation on the rebuild. For buyers and sellers, having the heads properly redone significantly increases reliability and adds significant value to the car.
