Introduced in 2005 as the replacement for the beloved BMW E39 M5, the biggest talking point of the new M5 was its engine, a V-10 capable of producing 500 horsepower, making it the first production sedan to utilize a V-10. Performance was astounding and the M5 could sprint to 100 km/h from a standstill in just 4.7 seconds, though many independent tests saw much faster results. Electronically limited to 155 mph, the car was said to be capable of 200 mph with the limiter removed.

While the rest of the world was left with BMWs new seven-speed SMG transmission in the E60 M5, North American clients were given the choice between either that as optional equipment, or a tried-and-true six-speed manual transmission as standard. Albeit slightly slower, the six-speed manual gave enthusiasts the chance to row their own gears with the brilliant S85 V-10, making for a true sports sedan.

This 2008 BMW M5 is an incredibly desirable and rare six-speed manual example with 13,329 miles showing on the odometer at the time of cataloguing. Finished from the factory in Silverstone Metallic over black Marino leather, it was first sold to an individual located in Albany, New York. Just two years later in 2009, the BMW was sold to its second owner who would go on to keep the vehicle until 2023 having added roughly 7,000 miles onto the odometer during this time.

Presenting in wonderful condition, the M5 now rides on lower suspension and is accompanied by its owners books and collection of service invoices. The most recent document, dated to 2023, details a power steering service in addition to a fluid and filter change.

Manual transmission-equipped E60 M5s have been highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors for their engaging connection to one of the truly great M Division powerplants.
