After an 18-year hiatus, BMW has revived the 8 Series name with the BMW Concept 8 Series. The automaker's new flagship model could help the manufacturer compete against Mercedes-Benz, which overtook BMW last year as the world's largest luxury automaker.

Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there's been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.

Classic Car Overview

2007 Chrysler Crossfire The Chrysler Crossfire is a rear-wheel drive, two-seat sports car that was sold by Chrysler and built by Karmann of Germany for the 2004 to 2008 model years. Developed during the union of Daimler and Chrysler, the two-seater is based on the Mercedes-Benz R170 platform which shares 80% of its components with the first generation SLK. The second generation SLK was built on a new R171 platform starting in the 2005 model year; the R170 platform was essentially handed down to Chrysler for use in building the Crossfire. The name Crossfire refers to the two-character lines that run from front to rear along the body sides - their crease directions cross below the mirrors on the door panels. Conceived during the period of Chryslers ownership by Daimler-Benz, the name also refers to the collaboration of the two companies. For consignment, a 2007 Chrysler Crossfire. With design similarities courtesy its to its merger company Mercedes-Benz, even being built on the same platform as the first generation SLK, its sporty looks carry on today. Only built until 2008, not very many examples exist, but we will not at this time use the word rare! With mere 11,627 original miles, this two owner car has been well kept, always garaged, and meticulously maintained. Powered by a 3.2 liter V6 is not shabby either. An enjoyable sports car, rolling down the highway with a smile on your face. Exterior Reminiscent of the SLK of yore, this ribbed hood long front end teardrop edged headlights car even has the side vents on the front quarters with horizontal chromed trim spears just like ze musserland original. A horizontal ribbed swept back grille and body matching black integrated bumper all rounded over nicely creates the slick through the aero front end. A wide blackened windshield surround accentuates the swept back look, and a body matching hardtop all rounded over and working its way to the rear glass on to the deck, aero slicing is always the key. Speaking of which a thin spoiler adds to the sportiness and pops up on demand electronically. Taillights and another integrated body matching curved rear bumper, with dual centrally located exhaust exits. Here the German influence appears more Porsche Carrera, but still is distinctly Chrysler. 18-inch 7 wide spoked star wheels are wrapped by BF Goodrich tires which are like new, and on all 4 corners. Interior Inside within the confines of the simple design door panels, presenting in Dark Slate Gray, with their satin chromed metal pulls we see high back buckets for the two passengers. These have a wavy pattern stitched broadcloth for the inserts, and smooth stitched side supporting bolsters. A sexy silver console races forward to the dash and has a glovebox in back and also houses the parking brake lever and shifter. As it rises to the dash all aluminum plastic parts create a central panel and a machine age look. Here we have the climate controls, a factory AM/FM/CD Digital stereo. More toggles are present, and a cigarette lighter is missing. To the dash front where we see green backlit instruments in analog format with digital display inserts to show odometer and clock. A clean headliner is above, and with a push of a button the rear lift gate opens to reveal a nice clean felted gray storage area. Drivetrain Within the original clean unrestored engine bay sits a 3.2 liter fuel injected V6 producing 215hp. On the back is a 6-speed manual transmission which is a Chrysler NSG370 type. All clean, mean and presenting in showroom condition. Undercarriage Extremely clean and well cared for with no rust, surface or otherwise seen anywhere underneath. A stainless-steel dual exhaust snakes it way rearward to the center dual exit. Independent coil spring suspension is on front, and a 5 link coil spring suspension on the back. Power disc brakes are reserved for all 4 corners. No runs, drips or errors under here! Drive-Ability As expected, it fired right up, and on the test track performed without a hitch. Smooth powerful acceleration, good handling, and the 6-speed took up to cruise speed, and then some. Straight bias free panic stopping, and all functions were operational at the time of my test drive. Emulating a Mercedes SLK is not the worst thing that can happen and this car morphs that design into a distinctive Chrysler American sports car feel, retaining the technology from the Benz. Nice design, and low drag coefficient, snappy interior and some good power. We have a wiener..uh sorry a WINNER! (I got caught up in my Cherman :-0) Schnell!
