Classic Car Overview
2006 Porsche Cayman S
This is a 4 owner car, originally purchased in TN, that owner put roughly 55,000 miles on the car in his 4 years of ownership. The second owner lived in TN for a bit and then moved to MA, that owner put a bit more than 20,000 miles on it and then sold her via auction to owner 3 in NJ. Despite this being a 2006 and not part of the dreaded IMS bearing issue, he had the IMS bearing replaced along with the clutch. He also had the GT spoiler added, a clear engine cover (ala Ferrari) and a stainless steel sport exhaust. He also added about 3000 miles to the car.
The current owner has had her since 2018 and has added another 3000 miles to her, putting the miles today at 84,704.
The car isn't perfect but isn't far off. There are several small stone chips on the right rear flare and one on the hood that has been touched up. The tan leather interior's only flaw is the minor wear on the driver bolster.
The 3.4L flat 6 puts out 295HP and around 250 lb ft of torque. She fires up easily and idles smooth, with a distinct burble due to the sport exhaust. The 6 speed manual transmission means a bit more fun (in my opinion) than the auto and allows 0-60 times in the 5 second range, touching just over 7000 RPM on each shift.
As the Cayman is a mid engine car (as opposed to the 911 rear engine), the handling is very neutral and makes this car a blast to drive in a sporting manner. The 12.5" disc brakes in front, and 11.5" in the rear, bring her to a stop easily. With the GT wing in place, speeds of up to 170 mph can be had with relative comfort.
The optional 19" wheels are in great condition and are wrapped in Nankang Noble Sport tires in 235/35 19ZR in front and 265/35 19ZR in back, these sticky tires help keep the car planted. Although not normally issued in the states with a spare, the owner opted to purchase one and drop it into place under the front hood.
Inside, the leather seats are comfortable and have a power tilt and are heated.
All the electronics work as they should, power windows, power lock, power mirrors, tilt/telescope wheel, gauges, A/C blows cold, heat works, cruise control, power brakes and steering both very responsive, The multi disc CD changer is located in the glove box, the navigation disc's load in the "frunk" mounted CD player. The electronics also include blue-tooth connectivity and home link for garage doors.
What you're getting is a great looking, strong running, awesome performing car.
The original exhaust, wing and engine cover come with the car along with receipts.
Asking price is $25,000.
Although slightly higher than your average Cayman S, this is NOT an average Cayman S.
