2006 Pontiac GTO

My 2006 Pontiac GTO is probably the nicest, cleanest and strongest late model GTO available. I have cared for it and upgraded it since 2008, stored it in my heated garage and drove it gently and sparingly for the most part.
The 400 Horsepower LS2 engine is very powerful throughout the rpm range. It pulls strong from 1000 rpm and spins quickly to 7,000 with a great, flat torque curve. In sixth gear it quietly turns 1100 rpm at 60 mph and gets 28.5 mpg on the interstate if you keep your foot out of it.
The excellent suspension, precise rack and pinion steering and 4-wheel disc brakes yield a wonderful handling car that is just a joy to drive. Curvy mountain roads, stoplight launches, or high-speed interstate blasts are all as exciting as you care to make them. Fortunately, the current owner was very careful and only tested the performance on rare occasions.
I made several important upgrades
1- Stock GTOs come with a weak, two-piece drive shaft featuring three rag joints to soften driveline vibrations. These things wear, cause the driveshaft to fail and often wreck the car. This GTO has been upgraded to a 4 inch diameter chrome moly driveshaft rated for 1100 HP. It is guaranteed for life.
2- The stock GTO has very comfortable, luxurious black leather upholstery with bucket seat bolsters that keep the driver planted firmly. Unfortunately, every late model GTO's seats fail at the seams and the foam padding becomes exposed. This problem is most common on the headrests of the rear seats. This GTO has been re-upholstered by Harolds Upholstery in Salisbury Maryland and heavy-duty thread was used on the seams (lifetime guarantee).
3- The stock GTO comes with a weak, flimsy, plastic radiator overflow tank mounted below the front left core support section. This has been upgraded to a Moroso tank made of heavy gage aluminum. This, too, is guaranteed for life.
4- The stock GTO sound system was adequate but has now been upgraded to Sirius Radio, CD player, Bluetooth and Kenwood premium speakers. Traveling is a joy when you can enjoy the music you like.
5- The stock air conditioning condenser has been replaced with an upgraded unit after the original Holden unit got a small leak. The new one is also guaranteed for life.
The GTO Coupe has a back seat and the vehicle will seat four people. I recommend that Offensive linemen should ride in the front and smaller folks ride in the back. The trunk is quite adequate for trips but smaller suitcases and soft sided luggage work best.
I hope the new owner will enjoy this jewel as much as I have enjoyed it over the past years. I have listed the price that I believe the car is worth and wont tolerate any offers until the potential buyer has seen, checked and driven the car.
