Classic Car Overview
This is a SL AMG55 P30 limited edition model .. approximately 100 imported per year. Includes larger wheels, and brake rotors, higher oil capacity with extra cooling radiators, limited slip differential, performance settings on adjustable suspension. also has Alcantara fabric on dash and steering wheel.
Is also fully loaded with things like AC heat and massage in the seats, battles shifters, and push button start ..Panoramic roof is also unusual.
As with all SLAMG 55s, the engine is hand built and signed by the builder. Bulletproof motor..
I bought the car with 81,500 miles on it six years ago with the intention of touring the US with my wife post retirement. The car has always been garaged
either at home or a parking garage. The body is all original, excellent paint. My goal was to go over all the mechanicals to bring the car up to essentially new status and reliability. I will list below most of the items I replaced or renewed and provide detailed receipts upon request. Should also be noted that the transmission was replaced by the previous owner through Mercedes Benz Of Laguna niguel. Current mileage on the transmission is 15,700 miles.
The current mileage is 86,300. This is the list of work that was done (Mercedes parts) over the course of the last 4800 miles:
- 81,531 miles: Fluids: engine, radiator, limited slip, differential, power steering, brake fluid, supercharger oil, suspension fluid.
- 82,000 miles: engine mounts.
-81,768 miles: 16 spark plugs, spark, plug wires, valve cover, and pan gasket.
-82,050 miles 02 sensors
- 82,317 miles: rebuild ABC hydraulic suspension to include two P reservoirs( accumulators) and pulsation dampeners.. flush system and replace hydraulic fluid
-82,700 miles: replace all engine belts and built tensioners. Replace supercharger clutch.
- 83,500 miles new Michelin pilot sport AS tires.
- 83,911 miles : replace crankshaft position sensor, shift gate, driver seat, belt, tensioner.
- 84,016 miles: replace pneumatic latch and sensor for trunk. Also, replace PSE pump and control assembly ( expensive) runs all the pneumatics.
-85,000 miles replaced both rear brake rotors and pads with factory parts. Note: front brakes replaced by prior owner.
- 85,826 miles replaced hydraulic cylinder for folding top and hydraulic lines for folding top; new hydraulic fluid.
- 85,826 miles: also replaced folding top flap assembly for convertible top.
( transmission has only 15,700 miles on it)
The cost of the above work and mostly pre-Covid dollars was $18,026. ( expensive today would be more expensive today.)
Reason for selling the car: my wife required spinal fusion of her lower back two years ago and I just a month ago had a spinal fusion in my neck.
Touring the country is no longer a good option.
