Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there's been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.

1982 Mustang GT

Jim Clarke led the charge with the creation of the 5.0 HO V8 for the Mustang in 1982 and was responsible for the continuous improvement of the 5.0 throughout the '80s. What Jim and his team accomplished is truly amazing.

Classic Car Overview

Supercharged. Drive everybody else's Mustang first. Then drive this one. You will be impressed with the power and handling of this Mustang GT. Just 5 psi of boost from the Edelbrock E-force blower is pretty impressive because the torque comes on from 2000 rpm (360 lb-ft at the tire at 2000 rpm!!) and pulls all the way to redline. 12.2 seconds in the quarter mile at 117mph on a very conservative tune. 430 lb-ft of torque and 410 horsepower at the tire on the dyno. With the Corsa Extreme axle back exhaust, you're purring like a kitten on cruise and wailing like a stock car at wide open throttle. The Tokico D spec adjustable shocks/struts let you dial in the suspension for drag racing, road racing, or Sunday driving. The lower control arm relocation brackets allow you to adjust your lower control arms for better traction when drag racing. The MGW short throw shifter is a solid piece that virtually guarantees you don't miss a gate on a shift. The 8.8 rear end has a TA Performance girdle and welded tubes for rock solid durability at this power level. Other goodies...adjustable 2 step launch control, line lock kit, Ford Racing 4.10 gears, GT500 fuel pump, Steeda sport springs, Steeda adjustable upper control arm, Steeda rear sway bar, Steeda adjustable pan hard bar, oil separator, slotted front rotors and Hawk pads, Centerforce clutch. Over $13000 in parts alone. So if you bought a 100% stock 2006 Mustang GT for $12K, and bought all of the parts that are on this car, you would be north of $25K. I've enjoyed this car immensely, but I'm ready for something different. I was the second owner of this car. I bought it with about 55k miles on it and I've had it for about 6 years. The E-force was installed about 10000 miles ago. The car has been garage kept and rarely driven in the rain while I have owned it. No accidents that I know of. Some dings on the right rear quarter panel but they are small as you can't really see them in the pictures.
