Introduced for the 2005 model year, the C6 generation of Chevrolets venerable Corvette brought about a host of refinements that made the Corvette better looking, better performing, and nicer to live with on a daily basis. The exterior dimensions were shortened in both length and width, while the wheelbase was increased for better ride and handling. The body lines were much more taught than the somewhat bulbous curves of the C5, and the biggest styling change of all was the exposed headlamps replacing the pop up lamps present on the Corvette since 1963. Inside an all new and more modern interior appeared that improved on the most complained about part of the C5, with much improved seats and switchgear that felt much better than the soft touch controls of the C5.
