The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!
The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.
Classic Car Overview
2006 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe In 1951 a group of Harley Earls Special Projects crew began work on a GM sports car. Bob McLean designed a general layout for the car which was originally code named, Opel. William Durant, the founder of GM, said a wallpaper pattern he saw in a Paris hotel in 1928 inspired the bow tie logo. Supposedly, he ripped off a small piece of it and brought it back to Detroit. Myron Scott, at the time Chevrolets Chief photographer, is credited with coming up with the Corvette name, drawing from the small, fast warships of the Corvette class. Fast forward to 2006 and this C6 version putting out 400HP and has the first exposed headlights since 1962. This Coupe from Bowling Green presents in very good condition with a mere 38,850 original miles. This Corvette drives smoothly with a really nice ride quality and makes it seem as though you are floating over the bumps and bruises in the road. Exterior Very nice Monterey Red covers the exterior of this open headlight fiberglass car. A black Targa top also in good condition can be opened in the center for some extra airflow through the car. 5-spoke polished wheels are noted all around, and some bling from the rear in the form of dual exhausts peeking out from the center. Otherwise nice condition of the body and paint for this Vette. Interior With a nicely contrasting color to the Monterey Red exterior, we are met with black leather buckets, and matching black leather door panels. A very nice curved dash melts into a similar curved design center console. Seat heaters, climate control, a single disc CD player with the standard AM/FM/radio, anti-skid button mode, power windows, power locks and power seats with 2 position memory, make this Black interior as spicy as pepper! One more note about the black carpeting covering the floor...beautiful! Drivetrain A 6.2 Liter V8 with sequential fuel injection can be seen emblazoned with LS2 logos on exterior matching valve covers. Attached is a 6180 6-speed automatic transmission. Undercarriage With the use of many lightweight materials, we see no corrosion, no surface rust, and all structurally sound framing and floorpans. 4-wheel power disc brakes are seen, and this C6s suspension consists of independent unequal-length double length wishbones with transverse fiberglass mono-leaf springs. With its beautiful black leather interior mating with the Monterey Red exterior, it does not get any better than this with the color combination. The low mileage is an attraction, as well as a very clean overall engine bay, and well performing engine and transmission. This open headlamp version of the C6 is a turnkey sports car awaiting action.
