The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 stands as one of the most consequential performance cars ever produced a machine that effectively established the modern hypercar formula by combining extraordinary speed, engineering sophistication, and true grand-touring luxury. This 2006 example is particularly significant as chassis number 013, the 13th of just 252 Veyron 16.4 coupes produced and only the second U.S.-specification example built.

Finished in the quintessential two-tone combination of Silver Metallic and Dark Blue Metallic, the Veyrons sculptural bodywork remains as distinctive today as it was upon its introduction. The understated exterior is complemented by a richly appointed Grenadine leather interior, further enhanced by the desirable optional sport seats. The combination perfectly illustrates the duality at the heart of the Veyron: an automobile capable of world-record performance while retaining the craftsmanship, comfort, and refinement expected of a true Bugatti.

At its center is Bugattis extraordinary 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16, producing 986 horsepower and sending power through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and Haldex all-wheel-drive system. Performance was virtually unprecedented for a production automobile of its era, with the Veyron capable of accelerating from 0 60 mph in approximately 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 253 mph when configured for its dedicated top-speed mode. Ten radiators manage the enormous thermal demands of the powertrain, while carbon-ceramic brakes and an active rear wing functioning as an air brake provide equally remarkable stopping capability.

More than two decades after its debut, the original Veyron remains a milestone in automotive history. Before the arrival of cars such as the LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918 Spyder, Bugatti had already delivered 1,000 horsepower, all-wheel drive, a dual-clutch transmission, and a 250-plus-mph top speed in a car engineered to cross continents in complete luxury. As an exceptionally early-production example, chassis 013 offers the opportunity to own one of the foundational cars from the model that redefined what was possible from a road-going automobile.
