Classic Car Overview
I searched for this M3 for about 6 month and finally found one with OEM paint depth on all panels and clean Carfax and Autocheck. Paint depth was verified by paint meter during PPI in 2012. Paint correction was then done to remove 6 years' worth of swirls from the first owner, and brought back the dark blue color of Carbon Black. The M3 had 14K miles when I bought it.
I had full front PPF installed to ensure that the paint would not be damaged after paint correction.
The car was put into daily service in 2012 and the PPF did a great job keeping the car exterior well protected, but was showing signs of wear after 6 years. In 2018, I took the car out of daily service, and the original PPF was removed and the whole car was wrapped in Xpel PPF with ceramic coating applied.
That same year, I also had the VANOS replaced as a preventive measure.
The M3 has been always garaged, and I regularly used Leatherique to condition the leather. Front seats have some creases but no scratches or discoloration on side bolsters. Euro OEM Short center console helped prevent scratches from shoes on the rare occasion of rear passengers.
During the lockdown I decided to replace all tactile interior trim pieces (e.g., rear seat belt trim covers, short center console, steering wheel covers, and A, B, and C pillar trims). Headliner was redone with OEM fabric. To finish off the rejuvenation process, I also replaced all outside plastic and rubber trim pieces, yes, even that really expensive rear window trim pieces with the rubber gaskets.
Bluebus Bluetooth module, which uses OEM CD changer connector was installed to preserve the OEM deck while adding Bluetooth streaming as well as handfree phone calls.
The car is also wired for V1, though bring your own V1.
A new set of BMW M3 floormats will be included in the sale.
In 2022 the AC Evaporator ( which get used a lot since this is a California and Texas car) was replaced due to a leak. The AC works great now in Texas summer.
The M3 has great Blackstone numbers as seen here. In August of 2025, with 48548 miles, the rod bearings were replaced as a preventive measure, as you can see from the pictures, they still had plenty of lives left. I have added a cold start video after the rod bearings job. The old rod bearings were saved and will come with the sale of the car, as well as service documentation going back to 2012.
I am selling the M3 because over the years my collection has been trending more American instead of German, and I am looking to add several more American cars, so it is my hope that I will find a great owner who has always wanted a great E46 M3.
