After an 18-year hiatus, BMW has revived the 8 Series name with the BMW Concept 8 Series. The automaker's new flagship model could help the manufacturer compete against Mercedes-Benz, which overtook BMW last year as the world's largest luxury automaker.

Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there's been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.

Classic Car Overview

This 2004 Mercedes SL500 is that powerful, elegant, sophisticated, and all-around sinister droptop that knows how to make an entrance. So, nows your chance to grab a six-figure car thats at a deep discount because of some cosmetic issues in the paint. A legendary German convertible with 77,705 miles for the cost of a 5-year old Hyundai? Yes please! Buying a future classic has its advantages. They could only have dreamed of producing this these kinds of sheet metal angles a few decades ago. Of course, it also doesnt hurt that this paint came in black, although a poor respray sometime in its past has really hurt the usual stunning curb appeal of a droptop SL500. Thankfully, the body still looks great, as this SL has all the best elements you expect from a German engineered machine. Thats why the panels still have their precision fit, and the doors shut with the solid THUNK that comes from buying a well-built Mercedes. But as much as we talk about quality, the real reason for desirability is the style. Its a sleek roadster for the sunny days, and the electronic folding hardtop was so well engineered, that the design makes for an outstandingly attractive coupe when you need to button up for the weather. With a better respray by the new owner after purchase, this Merc might become the deal of the year at Streetside. The black leather interior is the perfect sinister combo for the exterior shade. So, were happy to see it has been cared for nicely, commensurate with age and miles. The SL has earned its reputation as a luxury cruiser through a long list of desirable features. This includes power windows, power locks, key-less entry, cruise control, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, and an LED navigation system (requires installation CD to operate) with a stereo powerful enough to be heard at triple-digit speeds with the top down. And speaking of top-down, the automatic climate control and heated seats means you can stay comfortable while open to the world any time of year. All of these features are set into real wood panels that heighten the luxury experience. As the driver, your seats memory feature will remember to power adjust to your ideal position. Plus, the buttons on the steering wheel give you all the essential controls. But theres another side to modern Mercedes amenities that are always a nice bonus. This premium marque is known for engineering plenty of safety into their cars, and this can be seen on items such as the dual airbags, side airbags, anti-lock brakes, and the roll bar that automatically pops up when danger is detected. The 302 horsepower 5.0-liter V8 is a finely tuned engine that knows when you want comfortable quiet cruising. But it knows to awaken a true V8 rumble when youre having fun with the accelerator pedal. This same dual luxury and sporting nature can be found in the seven-speed automatic transmission. Its a normal automatic when you want leisurely cruising, and the manual mode will let you tick through the gears when its time for some back-roads fun. Add in other features such as the multi-link independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, speed sensitive power steering, and this is the perfect car to bypass the country club for more weekend road trip fun. A dealer maintenance should be scheduled for this SL to perform at optimum levels, but once that is done, let your mind be carefree as you stand on the accelerator and pass everyone on the highway. Complete with maintenance records, you know you should be paying quite a bit more for this level of modern luxury. With a few issues addressed, this is a much more expensive luxury car. So, dont let a great deal pass you by. Call today!!!
