The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!
The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.
Classic Car Overview
2004 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe In 1951 a group of Harley Earls Special Projects crew began work on a GM sports car. Bob McLean designed a general layout for the car which was originally code named, Opel. William Durant, the founder of GM, said a wallpaper pattern he saw in a Paris hotel in 1908 inspired the bow tie logo. Supposedly, he ripped off a small piece of it and brought it back to Detroit. Myron Scott, at the time, Chevrolets Chief photographer, is credited with coming up with the Corvette name, drawing from the small, fast warships of the Corvette class. For consignment a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe that has a nifty paint color (Medium Spiral Gray Metallic), uber low miles (16,450), plus all the bells and whistles one could ask for. The last year of the C5 Corvette and the only one of the many many Corvettes we have in our vast inventory here at the Classic Auto Mall Exterior Medium Spiral Gray Metallic drapes the exterior of this car and presents in like showroom condition. Very snazzy, very metallic, and super sparkly in the fall sunlight. With a virtual lack of any chrome save for the 4 chrome Z06 wheels, and the cross flag on the nose, the Spiral Gray quickly takes over as star of the show, at least on the exterior. All gaps are well minded and its hard to find any flaws in the fiberglass/composite body. 18 and 19 inch chrome Z06 wheels sit on all four corners and are wrapped in 245/45/ZR17 and 275/40ZR18 like new rubber. Seen is a removable top for some open-air motoring so one can enjoy the exhaust notes along with the warming fall sunshine. Interior Black leather, power adjustable, high back buckets embroidered with Corvette name await you. Sliding in will put you into a cockpit with an AM/FM/CD player, dual zone electronic A/C, cruise control, and power locks and power windows. A bevy of gauges are in front of the leather wrapped steering wheel and monitor all engine functions. The odometer shows there are 16,450 original miles on this Corvette. Drivetrain The standard 5.7L LS1 fuel injected 350hp V8 is nestled under the forward tipping hood. We note A/C, power steering and power brakes in this ultra clean engine bay. A 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to a 2.73 geared rear axle and then to the tires. Undercarriage Very clean, nothing but black painted steel and stainless steel. Very sound with no rust or surface rust. Active handling, traction control, and 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS are noted. Independent SLA suspension with a transverse monoleaf spring provides the ride for front and rear. Factory dual exhaust is present and exits with 4 chrome ringed tips under the center of the rear bumper. Drive-Ability She fired right up and off to the test track we went. Here the car provided great handling, good cruising and everything control wise works swimmingly. We were lucky enough to have a bit of a fall heat wave going on in Pennsylvania for this test drive, so we sucked up the opportunity and took the removable top out to really enjoy our experience. Overall a very nice example of a 16 year old Vette, that has been well cared for. An eye catching seldom seen paint color really makes this car pop along with its many options and its 350hp to get you motoring down the road. Snazzy chromed Z06 wheels really set this car off and with the purchase the original wheels are included. What more can the suburban cruiser ask for?
