2003 Chevrolet Corvette 50th Anniversary Convertible For consignment, a 2 owner 2003 Chevrolet Corvette convertible that was treated to over $5,000 worth of service in July of 2022. Corvette was celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2003, and did have an early release of a special paint scheme which is on this car and called 50th Anniversary Red. And as they say, the rest is history . Exterior 50th Anniversary Red drapes the exterior of this car. Exterior add ons include heated outside mirrors, manual folding top with rear glass and defroster, halogen headlamps, and chrome exhaust tips, which are gathered together in the center of the rear roll pan. All black trimmings, the Corvette cove on the front quarter harkens back 50 years, and a tan convertible canvas top is on with with only minor soiling spots and some minor seam separation, and gold tinted anniversary aluminum wheels are all around and are wrapped in like new high performance blackwall rubber. We do note that the paint shows some dulling on the flat surfaces, areas of clear coat degradation, and even some bubbling near the edges of the trunk. Scuffs and scrapes are also noted on the lower body panels, especially the nose which appears to have had a run in with a parking stop at one time in its life. Interior Shale, (off white), leather, power adjustable, high back buckets embroidered with Corvette name and 50th anniversary crossed flags await you. These seats show typical leather wear and a tear on the passengers lower cushion. Sliding in will put you into a cockpit with an AM/FM/12 disc CD sound system with Bose Speakers, dual zone electronic A/C, a drivers info center on the dash above the console, cruise control, and power locks and power windows. A heads-up display is seen as is soiled and stained shale colored carpeting throughout. Drivetrain The standard 5.7 Liter LS1 fuel injected V8 nestled under the forward tipping hood, in a clean engine bay, is attached to a 4L60E 4-speed electronic automatic transmission. The rear axle weighs in at 2.73 with limited slip capability. Undercarriage Very clean, nothing but black painted steel, cast aluminum suspension and stainless steel. Very sound with no rust or surface rust. Active handling, traction control, 4 wheel independent suspension with new GM standard shocks and 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS are noted as well as dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Drive-Ability This Corvette in 50th Anniversary Red and a convertible version is a stunner. Plenty of power after a quick start and warmup, and the test track was no match for this vehicle. It ran great and all was working well during our tenure behind the wheel.
