2003 50th Anniversary Corvette Time Capsule! Still smells new! Over the course of five vehicle generations, the always-striking Corvette remained true to its 1953 two-seater roots, ratcheting up the technical sophistication, musclebound character, and motorsport-honed performance with each successive generation. An automotive icon and patriotic symbol, the Corvette brand has cultivated a dedicated legion of enthusiasts. For its golden anniversary, special edition Corvette coupes and convertibles are swathed in a rich red exterior, reminiscent of the Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Package offered in 1993. The paint itself is very special, using a tintcoat process with red Xirallic flake in a basecoat covered with a red-tinted clear coat. All Corvettes feature an increased roster of standard equipment for year 50, adding fog lamps, sport seats, power passenger seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, child seat hooks for passenger bucket, cargo net, luggage shade (coupe), and exterior 50th Anniversary badges. Pewter paint is replaced with Medium Spiral Gray Metallic. Besides the 50th Anniversary Package this Corvette also has the Dual Roof Package with the glass roof still being protected by the shipped in plastic covering plus the optional 6 Speed Transmission.
