Classic Car Overview
2002 Mercedes Benz SLK 230 Kompressor
The SLK came about in the late 90's as Mercedes' Sport Light Kompact car.. The Kompressor was their supercharged version. The 2.3L 4 cylinder puts out close to 200 hp and a little over that in torque.
The SLK is a hard top convertible that drops the top in under 30 secs with the press of the button.
The SLK 230 came standard with many luxury appointments, much like their SL predecessors, such as power steering, power 4 wheel disc brakes, leather interior, AC, cruise control, 8 way power seats, power windows, auto-dimming mirror, dual-zone climate control, traction control, sport mode, 6 speed auto transmission, air bags, anti-lock brakes and stability control.
This 3 owner model came from the factory in Bahama Blue Metallic over black leather interior. It was first leased in California, for just a couple of years, the second owner, also in CA owned it for about 10 years and it was regularly serviced as shown in the CarFax. The third owner purchased it in 2016 and has also cared for her quite well over the last few years. She is now just a bit bored and wants to move onto another car, so she's selling this one.
The paint is in very good condition with just a minor chip here or there to show the 69,000 miles on the car, the Carfax lists minor rear damage reported and that is a very small crack on the rear bumper cover. The interior is also in good condition with some minor wear on the door pull and center console area. The car is rust free.
As mentioned, the car has been serviced regularly and drives and accelerates well.
The car is in need of nothing. Turn the key, press the button to drop the top and go.
Originally listed less than 20 years ago at close to $40,000, this beautiful Mercedes can now be had at well less than $20,000. In great condition, destined to be a future classic much like the R107 series and Pagoda top SLs of the 60s through the late 80's, this car is priced at just $11,500, which is a fairly firm price.
