The biggest re-design in Corvette history came with the introduction of the C5
or fifth generation that was built from 1997-2004. It was completely new from
head to toe and some of the manufacturing and designs would be carried
through to two models later through the C7. It had an all-new, all-aluminum V8
that would churn out over 350 HP and have a top speed in the 175 MPH range.
It had a better coefficient drag than seen before as well as being lighter it made
