The Most Desirable Corvette Ever?

The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!

Classic Car Overview

The C5 Corvette was a massive step forward for the legendary fiberglass sports car, and if you havent driven one, you dont know just how good they are. This black-on-black 2002 Chevrolet Corvette coupe shows just 96,209 original miles, and represents what might very well be the biggest performance bang for your buck anywhere. Finished in one of the most appealing of all C5 colors, Black, this car gleams in the showroom and is great shape overall, which is true of most late-model Corvettes that have been cherished by dedicated owners since new. It has been driven enough to keep everything in top condition mechanically and the top driver-quality paint shows very well. The bodywork, including the optional stinger along the sides is beautifully preserved, and its hard to believe this car is almost 20 years old. Nothing looks better than Black when its right, and this car has a fantastic look that seems to defy the passage of time. Go ahead, take another look at it; the C5 is aging rather well, dont you think? This cars tan leather interior is every bit as nice and with the C5s, GM included most everything that youd want as standard equipment. However, youre in luck, because this car includes the desirable optional sport seats, which were a big upgrade over the standard pancake-flat buckets. Theres some very, very slight wear on the drivers seat, and the steering wheel shows some signs of white-knuckle grips through the years, but overall the interior is well-preserved. Youll never get tired of watching the gauges do their dance every time you start the engine, and theres tons of useful data to be gleaned from the driver information center in the middle of the cluster. This car also offers options like dual zone climate control, Bose AM/FM/CD stereo system, power windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, among others and everything works as it should. Even the trunk is pretty much like new with a convenient privacy cover to keep valuables out of sight. The C5s LS1 V8 was another huge step forward. With 350 horsepower in 2002, it was a formidable performer, yet it could still pull down 25 MPG on the highway, something few other cars could match. The LS1 also introduced a plastic intake manifold to control heat and noise, distributor-less ignition, and a sophisticated fuel system, all stashed under handsome removable covers with CORVETTE emblazoned on their surface. Oddly enough, the 4-speed automatic transmission was standard (not the 6-speed) and it really makes the car easy to drive for just about anyone. Ordering the automatic also got you acceleration-happy 3.42 gears out, but with the towering overdrive its a spectacular high-speed cruiser. The engine runs quite well and has not been modified (not even an air filter upgrade) so it will be as reliable as an anvil for years to come. Even the undercarriage is tidy, with signs of use, but never any winter weather or other notable issues after spending the vast majority of its life in Texas. Flashy Z06 chrome wheels were added to punctuate the lowered body stance, and they wear staggered 215/40/17 front and 285/35/18 rear performance radials. If youre looking for a C5, its shocking that this much performance is available for so little cash. Call today!
