2002 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Convertible
Convertible Car for sale in Erie, Pennsylvania 16510
With all the hoopla surrounding the new Camaro 1LE, let's look back at the original.
The story of the ZL1 Camaro, fitted with that rarest of the rare, all-aluminum 427 big-block V-8, is one that has often been told: How only 69 were made, how they exploited the GM option-ordering system, and how they've become the Camaro guy's ultimate Camaro.
Classic Car Overview
Supercharged 2002 Camaro Z/28 Convertible For Sale - Camaro convertible in Pewter Metallic color with aftermarket black side stripes (GM authorized design) and black canvas convertible top. Car is equipped with Boyd Codington aluminum wheels, 17x9 on the front and 17x11 on the rear with BF Goodrich G-Force radial tires, 245-50x17 on the front and 275-40x17 on the rear. The suspension is a Bilstein setup that lowers the car 1.5 inches. Car is equipped with a Trans Am style "air extraction" hood to lower under hood temperatures caused by the supercharger (original flat hood also included). Flat hood fits with the supercharger installed, but it is tight. Aftermarket silver chrome inset letters are installed in the front grille and black chrome inset letters are installed in the rear panel. The interior is light gray cloth with custom embroidery in the headrests and red inserts in the seats.
The car includes the original three-piece parade boot and the factory case for these pieces. Also included is a light gray carpet dash cover and an extra ECU. Original owners manual and other such factory literature also go with car.
The engine is the original GM LS1 and is equipped with a Vortech V9 model centrifugal supercharger kit that includes an intercooler, larger injectors and an auxiliary T-Rex fuel pump. The supercharger is currently set up for 5 psi boost and provides excellent performance, reliability and drivability at this setting. The engine is also equipped with SLP long-tube exhaust headers and a Borla cat-back adjustable restriction exhaust system with dual twin intercooler tips (all stainless steel). The car has a custom tune by a local GM LS engine expert using GM factory software. The original four-speed automatic transmission has a shift kit installed. The rear is also the original positraction and is a 3.21:1 ratio.
2002 was the 35th Anniversary and final year of the Camaro until GM created the new retro design Camaros in 2010 and the new retro convertible in 2011. The car is originally from the western US. It was sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona in 2007 (Lot #1208) and was advertised as 395 RWHP at that time. It has since been improved but not retested. The car was sold to a man in the Columbus, OH area at this auction and I purchased the car in 2012 (three owners total).
The car is in excellent condition and has never been driven in winter. New O2 sensors, plug wires, plugs, tune, and tires were installed in late 2016 (under 2000 miles ago). It has a Carfax history report up until my ownership and I have complete maintenance records from then. Vehicle currently has 13,600 verified original miles and is PA state inspected until 05/2020. Mileage may increase slightly as I have taken the car out of storage (Stabil and battery tender installed during storage). The car is licensed as a PA Classic Vehicle and is maintained and driven accordingly. It is ready for someone else to enjoy.
Phone 814-897-eight zero one two if interested. Leave message if no answer (too many robo/scam calls) and I will get back to you. I do not require assistance selling the vehicle and no third-party out-of-town agents or other such scams will be responded to.
