The Porsche 911 has always been among the worlds most desirable cars, keeping it near the top of the automotive food chain for 60 years. This clean 2001 Carrera 4 Cabriolet lives up to this heritage nicely, offering AWD, a proper 6-speed transmission, low miles, and a clean Autocheck report. It also has an upgraded IMS bearing (to address the most common 996 concern) and two sets of wheels. With all this on top of its sports car performance and dynamic looks, this Porsche does not disappoint.

This Porsche has a clean accident-free history and shows 34k miles. It looks fantastic with its Arctic Silver Metallic exterior and dark blue top, remaining true to the pure 911 shape without any distractions. This one includes both the original 18 ten-spoke silver wheels along with a set of black aftermarket wheels for two very different looks. The power convertible top works perfectly; just push a button and watch it do its thing. There is also a speed-activated rear spoiler that deploys at 75 mph. Note the headlight lenses are in excellent condition too; so often they are cloudy and scratched on these cars.

The drivetrain consists of Porsches 3.4L flat-6 motor rated at 300hp. As mentioned, the IMS bearing was electively upgraded in 2019. The rear main oil seal and clutch were also replaced at this time with only 2,000 miles since. The engine is mated to a manual 6-speed transaxle which is definitely the setup of choice for a 911, offering a much better driving experience than the galumphing Tiptronic unit. As a Carrera 4 this example also provides full-time all-wheel drive along with Porsche Stability Management for the ultimate in traction and control. It also has very responsive steering and outstanding brakes which add to the sports car theme.

The dark blue leather interior continues the sports car theme with bucket seats that offer comfort on the highway and hold you nicely when cornering. The dash and controls are very well laid out with the tachometer getting Porsches traditional top billing. All gauges, warning lights, and other features work properly. This includes the automatic climate control and factory stereo as well as the on-board computer and headlamp washer.

There aren't many cars like the Porsche 911. It can do it all and do it well, though with a list price of $85,000 you'd expect as much. For a fraction of this original price though, you can own and experience a beautiful example of one of the worlds greatest sports cars.
