2001 Porsche 911 Cabriolet
After an 18-year hiatus, BMW has revived the 8 Series name with the BMW Concept 8 Series. The automaker's new flagship model could help the manufacturer compete against Mercedes-Benz, which overtook BMW last year as the world's largest luxury automaker.
Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there's been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.
Classic Car Overview
Equipment includes xenon headlamps with washers, and a folding wind deflector. Turbo-look 18 alloy wheels are fitted and wear Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Fronts are new and the rears have plenty of tread. New hood struts have been added.
The 3.4L flat-six was rated at 300 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is routed to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle and viscous-coupling transfer case. The car is believed to retain its original IMS bearing. The optional hard top is included along with the top carrier. Also included are a set of winter tires and wheels that are 17" and seen in the photo gallery. Everything works as intended except for the passenger side retractable cup holder.
