STK 3853 2001 Plymouth Prowler The Prowler was Chryslers retro-styled production car based on the 1993 concept car of the same name. It was manufactured and marketed by Plymouth/Chrysler from 1997 until 2002. The Prowlers front-engine and rear-transaxle configuration facilitated an almost perfect 50-50 front-rear weight distribution. Originally conceived and designed as a coupe by car designer Chip Foose, it was modified to be a roadster for production. Featuring predominately aluminum construction, Prowlers were assembled by hand at Chryslers CAAP Detroit facility. This unique performance car is powered by Chryslers SOHC 3.5L 24-V fuel-injected engine. The aluminum V-6 produces 253bhp at 6400 RPM, more than enough to propel this lightweight roadster. Its semi-automatic 4-speed/OD Autostick transaxle can be driven as an automatic or shifted manually. This 2001 Plymouth Prowler has been with its current owner for the last eight years and has been carefully maintained. The Sunset Orange exterior is in outstanding condition with factory alloy-spoke wheels sport Goodyear performance radials. The Black leather interior and manually operated fabric convertible top (w/glass window) are also in very good condition. Features include A/C, power tinted windows, power locks, tilt wheel and premium AM/FM/cassette sound system. The roadsters strong, lightweight aluminum chassis is equipped with power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes.
