2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata
Convertible Car for sale by REV Motorcars in Weaverville, North Carolina 28787
After an 18-year hiatus, BMW has revived the 8 Series name with the BMW Concept 8 Series. The automaker's new flagship model could help the manufacturer compete against Mercedes-Benz, which overtook BMW last year as the world's largest luxury automaker.
Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there's been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.
Classic Car Overview
For sale at REV is a very rare Special Edition 2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata. Mazda made a different Special Edition Miata every year starting from 1991 until today. Only 3,000 examples were ever produced for the US market in 2000, which was the last year of the NB1 body style.
This particular year was truly special, as it was one of just two years that Mazda ever put a wood-grain Nardi Torino steering wheel, shift knob, hand brake, and dash trim on their vehicles, the other being in 2001. The Special Edition also received a unique tan vinyl convertible top, "Special Edition" floor mats, body fairings, and unique polished aluminum wheels. This particular year also came fully loaded with most all the options available at the time, including a 6-speed Manual Gearbox, Torsen Limited-Slip rear differential, Cruise Control, BOSE Stereo, Power Mirrors, Power Locks, Fog Lamps, Power Antenna, and a glass rear window with defroster.
This Miata has only had 3 owners since new, and just a little over 78,000 original miles put on it in the last 20 years. The interior and exterior are both in fantastic shape, with only very minor wear and tear. The vehicle has had no accidents or bodywork of any kind. Everything works as it should with the exception of the cruise control. It has a new set of tires mounted on all four wheels, which are in excellent condition and shine like they did when the car was brand new. No modifications of any kind from original either! It spent most of its life in Florida, and then was in South Carolina since 2015 so NO RUST of any kind underneath or on the body. The previous owner reported that they installed a new clutch recently as well.
These 2000 Special Editions are very hard to find, and highly collectable! They are sure to be a future classic, and appreciate in value over time. Come see the car today at our dealership, and take it out for a test drive. You are sure to fall in love!
