What makes this Wrangler unlike virtually any other TJ on the road is its professionally executed four-door conversion by Tennessee Custom Cars. Completed when the Jeep had fewer than 1,000 miles, the conversion predates the factory four-door Wrangler by several years and shows to be built to such a high standard that many people assume it was factory produced. This isnt just a custom Jeep its a piece of automotive history! Now as to its pedigree....the original owner was none other than Thomas DuPont, founder of the DuPont Registry. He purchased the Jeep new and with fewer than 1,000 miles on the odometer, commissioned Tennessee Custom Cars to transform it into a four-door Wrangler years before Jeep engineers ever envisioned the JK Unlimited. We spoke directly with Mr. DuPont, & confirmed the Jeeps history and he shared that it spent much of its life at his home in Nantucket. After remaining in his ownership for more than two and a half decades he decided it was time to part with it!. Its hard to imagine a cooler backstory for one of the most unique TJ Wranglers weve encountered! The CARFAX lists this as a 1-owner & report is perfect and title is clear! New set of 265-70-15 inch RWLs approx 500 miles ago with sharp just abour perfect factory alloy wheels & nice original full-size spare mounted on the swing-out tailgate with special Nantucket tire cover.The cabin features 4 nice original high-back reclining front bucket seats with matching rear bench & very nice carpet thru-out. Amenities include dual padded roll bars, A 2-spoke tilt steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer, guage pkg and a 6k-rpm tachometer. We have driven this one approx 75 plus miles with kids and grandkids and it has performed great and is a blast to pack everyone in there and cruise! This is one neat find and runs and drives out smooth & strong it really rides nice with the longer wheel-base!
