Exterior This car screams SS and Chevrolet with all its add ons and snappy looking factory applied Bright Red basecoat/clearcoat paint. The grille opening is slightly different than a standard Z28 and a red, white, and blue badge hovers just above. Deeply inset fog lights flank the grille opening and all present with nary a flaw. Chevrolet is known for their rakish styling on the front glass, and this car is no exception. A long lean hood with an integral molded in SS scoop leads back to the windshield leaning way back in this design. On top is a like new black canvas convertible top with a glass rear window and it is power actuated. On the sides, straight steel and composite panels with well minded gaps create the front and rear quarters badged with black SS badges on the front quarters. On the short rear deck, (the long nose, short deck muscle car look lives on), where there is a wide spoiler that is very low profile. GM multi-spoke 17-inch aluminum wheels are on all 4 corners and are wrapped in blackwall rubber in 275/40R17 format from the 5th week of 2021. Dual exhaust peeks out from under the body matching neoprene bumper. All paint is at the deep end of the pool and looks nearly perfect throughout. Interior A swing of the sexy doors and we get loads of black molded smooth vinyl, clean gray broadcloth, integrated door pulls with a matching charcoal gray actuator and plenty of power toggles to play with. Inside, rarely seen gray broadcloth high back buckets, showing almost no wear that comes with careful preservation and very little use, have smooth bolsters and semi-herringbone stitched inserts and the drivers seat being power actuated. A center console undulates by these buckets and houses the long arm leather knobbed shifter for the transmission. Shoehorned in back are two more molded in gray cloth buckets with not a lot of legroom but they are there. The center of the dash rises to the occasion with a premium sound system including AM/FM/Cassette, climate controls, and the power top button. A beautifully and gracefully arched dash top in front of the driver has all the essential gauges and warnings should something go awry during your performance drive. Gray carpeting floods the floors and is protected by color matching carpeted mats. Drivetrain The factory 346ci LS series V8 sits between the fenders and is looking as good as the day it was installed. Weve all come to know and love the LS1 series engines and this car is fed by EFI with the factory air intake. Mated to the back is a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission which sends power to the rear axle which is a 10-bolt 3.42 posi-traction setup. All stock and just the way the folks at the Quebec plant and SLP intended. Undercarriage Beautifully preserved with factory overspray still seen on floor pans and fuel tank. The factory dual to single to dual exhaust is on and looking just fab. Handling is courtesy front independent coil spring and Macpherson struts and the rear is a torque arm with coil springs to keep the tires stuck to the ground. Power disc brakes are on all 4 corners. Drive-Ability A quick starter and off to the test track where it performed well in all facets with endless acceleration, bias free braking and wonderful handling. All functions were performing as they should on this SS Camaro, and we kept our drive short so as to not rack up too many miles on this example.
