This 1999 BMW 323TiA compact (E36), M-Sport 5-Speed Automatic is the only car of its kind in North America that I know of. It is a German market model that was special ordered at Ditting + Schwarz, GmbH (BMW dealer in Ludwigsburg, Germany) by my mother in October 1999. My Mom was the only owner until I inherited the vehicle. We shipped the BMW from Germany to Colorado in 2/5/2025. It has been garaged since it was new.
Because the car was built exclusively for the European market, never officially sold by BMW in the USA, making it an exceptionally rare sight on American roads. The hatchback layout combined the nimble front chassis of the E36 with the trailing-arm rear suspension.
2.5-liter M52 inline six engine. It pushes out a factory-rated 170 horsepower, which makes the lightweight hatchback incredibly quick and fun to drive.
