1999 Alfa Romeo GTV

The Alfa Romeo GTV (Type 916) was introduced in 1993 and production ran up to 2004. Famed Italian design firm Pinninfarina was in charge of the sleek, fast wedge shape and for its head designer Enrico Fumia, who also had designed the 164 Sedan, it was his all-time best creation. The Alfa Romeo GTV was called "one of the best sports cars of its time" by motoring journalist Jeremy Clarkson in 1998 and was listed at number 29 in Top 100 Cars in 2001. The engine of choice in the GTV needs no introduction; the famous Busso 3.0L DOHC 24-valve V6, also referred to by Mr. Clarkson as the best 6-cylinder engine ever made. The engine churns out an impressive 220hp with 199 ft lbs of torque. The seductive little coupe weighs in at just 3110 lbs and could achieve zero-60mph in 6.2 seconds and had a top speed governed to 155mph, great stuff indeed!

This RHD 1999 model year, GTV 3.0 24V Lusso, was recently imported from Canada but had been stateside for a number years and was a labor of love for its current owner who built it as his dream Alfa Coupe. The car was originally metallic red but was given a complete glass out respray in stunning Alfa Romeo Rosso Competizione tri-coat paint which gives off gold undertones in direct sunlight. The color is simply divine and looks perfect with the Tan Momo Leather interior. Many upgrades were awarded to this car including: 147 GTA sport camshaft, full Alfaholics performance stainless exhaust system and Alfaholics Fast Road handling kit with adjustable Koni shocks, 17-inch Alfa 5-hole alloy wheels are fitted with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus tires with 2024 date codes. The original 5-speed gearbox was removed and replaced by a 3.7:1 6-speed box from the special edition 147 GTA as well. During rebuild a Q2 Limited Slip Differential from Quaife was also installed. The ratios are fantastic for this very light car and the 6th gear still keeps RPMs low at freeway speeds! Acceleration was good to begin with, but it is now very brisk with an estimated 235hp and the handling is extremely neutral - there is virtually no understeer with that Alfaholics suspension! There isn't any torque-steer and the car feels very balanced when pushed through high speed corners. The brakes were all replaced with upgraded slotted rotors up front, all 4 calipers were rebuilt and powder coated red, and stainless brake lines were fitted. A cold-air intake was also installed and improves engine breathing. An original Cup body kit (front bumper and rear spoiler) was sourced in Europe and installed when the car was painted as well as authentic Zender side skirts which really give this GTV an incredible stance. Inside a new Blaupunkt Madrid Bluetooth stereo modernizes the sound system, electric 2-stage heating was added to both front seats, and new Alfaholics black floor mats have been installed. All glass is factory original and in good shape. The passenger side airbag can be switch off as per factory spec.

The car has just received a fresh oil change, new wiper blades, new air filter foam insert, and new spark plugs have been installed as well as a show quality detail performed. This GTV includes its complete owners manual set, original sales brochure, tool kit, space saver spare tire, and one original key w/ remote. The car has just been shown at "Italian Day" cars and coffee event as well as Classics on the Green at Chateau St. Michelle winery here in the Northwest and was a huge hit having people around the car all the time!
