The Most Desirable Corvette Ever?

The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!

The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.

Classic Car Overview

This slick 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible represents one of the biggest bangs for the buck anywhere. Nicely maintained and not modified under the hood, its one of those clean drivers that tend to stand out at car shows and on the highway. Its got the right colors, low miles, and no stories, and for under $20 grand, you just cant go any faster. Dressing your Vette in Sebring Silver Metallic is never a bad choice, and the clean lines of the C5 seem to work especially well when theyre attracting attention. This one shows off the ministrations of a dedicated owner who made sure it was always clean and waxed, and given the low mileage, it wasnt used in the daily grind. As a result, the usual high-wear areas are in great shape with no chips and scrapes, and even though a few minor scratches can be seen here-and-there, a good buff will likely alleviate those pretty easily. Sure, its almost 20 years old, so its not perfect, but like most Corvettes, this one has definitely led an easy life. Other pleasant surprises include the lightly tinted windows, which look awesome against the silver car, the optional Stinger on the sides of the bodywork, and the black canvas convertible top with glass rear window. Man, this car just looks right. Black and silver leather sport buckets is a great complement to the Sebring Silver paint, and this C5 appears to be absolutely loaded with just about every option available in 1998. That means power buckets for both driver and passenger, along with an airbag each in front of those seats as well. The leather remains in great condition with only slight evidence that this car was actually driven and enjoyed the last 21 years, further proof that its been babied since Day 1. Bright gauges with electro-luminescent dials look as cool today as they did in 1998, and youll note that little button on the center console for the traction control, just in case some burnouts are in your future. Electronic dual-zone A/C is another comfortable feature, and it does carry standard power windows, locks, and seats, cruise control, and an AM/FM/CD stereo system that powers Bose speakers, all make this Corvette as much a luxury cruiser as back road burner. It also has great storage capacity with a remarkably big trunk, and even back there the carpets are spotless. The 5.7L LS1 engine needs no introduction, although its somewhat disguised under the heavy plastic coil covers. In the years since its introduction, these engines have proven to be incredibly reliable and durable, and theres a huge variety of aftermarket performance parts available for them. Fortunately, this one has led an easy life and still carries its factory-spec components, suggesting that it hasnt been raced or abused. But even in stock form, the LS1 is a formidable performer, even today, and the flexible power band makes it a joy to drive in traffic or on the open road. Most C5s are automatics, so the 4-speed automatic with overdrive in this Vette is no surprise, and its snappy around town yet the tall gearing makes it a superlative highway cruiser. Even the exhaust system is completely stock and its so clean underneath that you have to wonder if this car has ever seen the rain. Stock 5-spoke C5 wheels are still a clean design that looks great, and they carry factory-spec 245/45/17 front and 275/40/18 rear performance radials. C5 Corvettes arent just great cars, theyre incredible bargains, too. If you want one thats been gently used but will still stand out from the crowd, this is an awesome choice. And it comes loaded with maintenance records, owners manuals, an original window sticker, and a factory build sheet. Call today!
