Classic Car Overview

1998 Buick Riviera Supercharged, 2 owner

This is in essence a two owner car. It was taken in lease in late 98 but then sold through Gallagher Buick/Pontiac to a Reverend Sherer. just a few months later, maybe the car was a loaner or demo vehicle and was listed as a leased car so the dealership could avoid certain taxes? He owned it until he passed in 2010 when the current owners bought the car. They maintained it very well (except for an area of rust/rot along the driver floor section ... I'm surprised that their mechanic never mentioned it.. not sure it's really structural .. so maybe that's why?)

They enjoyed driving the car and it made many trips to their second home in coastal RI. However, now with 134,000 miles, they've driven it less and less and have a couple of other much newer cars.
Anyway, very cool car, lots of luxury appointments, the car gets up and goes nicely and everything works as it should.

They drove the car as a daily, 4 season car, hence the rust underneath, but up top that black paint still shines nicely, the rest of the underbody is rot free and in rather good condition, there are areas of surface rust on certain suspension components.

The Riviera emblems are all missing, possibly stolen at some point in time. The interior is also in very good shape. The seats are plush and upholstered in grey leather, the driver seat has some very minor wear along the bolster. Other touch points show minor wear/soiling, the pre-photo prep only consisted of running her through a car wash and quick vac, a full detail on her would really make everything pop. There is also a small tear on the driver door card and the knob for the lights is missing but the switch still works. The cast of amenities include 10 way power leather seats, power mirrors, power locks, power windows, cruise, sunroof, intermittent wipers, AC/zoned heat/AC, electric trunk release, and of course, power steering and 4 wheel power disc brakes bring the car to a halt. All the gauges, lights and electronic bits work correctly.

Under the hood, the Series II 3800 GM V6 is known as one the most robust engines built, normally taking their owners upwards of 250,000 miles. This one is supercharged and offers 240 HP and 280 lbft of torque and will move this Riviera to 60 MPH in just about 7 seconds.

They also have two sets of original Riviera wheels that come with the car, these current wheels look pretty good though.

Overall, you have a solid car, with many years of driving pleasure ahead. Getting the aforementioned rust addressed won't be tons of money as it just needs to be fixed, not done to any kind of concours restoration level. The car runs and drives great, oil has just been changed and tell me, when was the last time you saw a supercharged Buick Riviera? While not a true classic car, the Riviera name has a long history and this is the last iteration of any Rivieras made. This being a supercharged model puts it in a special place and this car would be more than welcome at any local cruise, show and would be a star at a Radwood style event.

In similar condition, without the rust, this would be a $7500 car, give or take.

With the current condition taken into account, asking price is $6000.
