Classic Car Overview

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this exceptional 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. This second-generation Viper is in excellent shape and has just over 40,000 miles on the odometer. The GTS is finished in a stunning blue paint job complimented by white racing stripes and a black interior. This Viper will turn heads where ever you go. The interior has been maintained exceptionally, one would not guess that it is over 20 years old. Some factory options include; air conditioning, power steering, power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel, premium sound, dual front airbags, premium wheels, bucket seats and dual rear exhaust . These 2nd generation Vipers continue to have a very strong following and still retain the raw power of what made the car special, while also gaining the simple luxuries that most people desire in a sports car. The Dodge Viper was a sports car manufactured by Dodge (SRT for 2013 and 2014), a division of FCA US LLC from 1992 through 2017 having taken a brief hiatus from 2010-2013. Production of the two-seat sports car began at New Mack Assembly in 1991 and moved to Conner Avenue Assembly in October 1995. Minor updates would continue in 1997 and 1998. In 1997, the RT/10 would receive the 450HP GTS engine along with air-bags and power windows. 1998 Vipers were equipped with second-generation airbags, revised exhaust manifolds (saving 24 lbs over the previous cast iron components) along with a revised camshaft. In 2000, the Dodge Viper updated to lighter hypereutectic pistons and factory frame improvements. While the hypereutectic pistons provided less expansion, the forged pistons are preferred for the supercharging and turbo aftermarkets. TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) recalls (998 and 999) were done at local dealerships to repair the 1996 to 1999 Viper frames by adding gussets with rivets near the steering box. 2001 saw the addition of ABS.
