The 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula WS6 is a high-performance version of the Firebird that came with a 5.7-liter V8 engine, six-speed manual transmission, and several performance upgrades.
The cabin features front sport seats and rear bucket seats upholstered in graphite cloth. Equipment includes a power-adjustable drivers seat, keyless entry, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and locks, a 10-speaker sound system, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with an equalizer. The steering wheel frames a 155-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 19k miles.
The exterior is finished in Dark Green Metallic paint and features dual air induction hood scoops, a rear decklid spoiler, pop up headlights, Formula graphics, WS6 badging, dual exhaust outlets and removable T-tops. The 17 five-spoke cast aluminum wheels are mounted to new KUHMO Ecsta tires, 275/40ZR17s. This is one of 36 produced for the formula coupe.
Power is provided by a 5.7-liter SFI V8 that features a Ram Air induction system and was factory rated at 305 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a BorgWarner T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The WS6 Performance and Handling Package added sport-tuned suspension components, and stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners.
