The Most Desirable Corvette Ever?

The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!

Classic Car Overview

1996 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe A Torch Red coupe version of the iconic Corvette with an LT1 300hp engine, nice interior, and plenty of power ready for you to let the good times roll. The car has been well maintained and is showing a mere 32,701 title verified actual miles. A close look at this stunning red rocketship beauty tells that the miles accrued were done so with the utmost care for future value and perfect preservation. Read on and fall in love with this final year C4 Corvette right out of 1996. Exterior Clean and mean Torch Red envelopes this Corvette. Matching polyurethane crash bumpers are on front and rear. Hidden headlights and a sculpted hood create a seamless aero look. The rear of the car sports the iconic sunken in round taillights, which is topped by a greenhouse glass rear pop up storage area. A slightly faded black removable roof panel is seen and can be easily removed and stored under the rear greenhouse glass. Factory tinted glass is also seen all around. Shiny turbine style wheels are seen on all 4 corners wrapped in 255/45R17s in the front and 285/40R17s in the rear. Just a wonderful presentation for this final year C4. Interior Black and red vinyl and leather dance with each other and take turns adorning the interior. The door panels have black central panels and are surrounded by retina searing red. Red leather buckets provide the seating and are barely worn with only minor creasing, typical of leather which is broken in but not overused. These chairs have high backs and nice wide side support bolsters for when you carve those curves. On the dash, a cascade of gauges and a left mounted tachometer create a semi circle which has a centrally located orange LCD readout for MPH, fuel level and mileage. Digital readouts are also seen within a centrally mounted larger screen which has plenty of info and warning lights for your monitoring. An AM/FM/Cassette & CD player is also flush mounted and sits just under the push button climate control. The central console in black houses the shift lever, power seat controls, and ashtray as well as a large storage glove box between the seats, and this backs up to a big storage area under the greenhouse glass in the rear of the car which is fully carpeted in red carpet that remains very clean. Drivetrain The original 350ci, 300 horsepower, Multi-Port fuel injected LT1 V8 rests under the clamshell hood and is backed by a 4-speed 4L60E automatic transmission. A 3.07 geared rear axle puts the power to the pavement. A near showroom presentation under the hood with nary a sign of dust, dirt, corrosion or patina. Undercarriage All rust free and plenty of ground effect panels we note the car rides and handles with front independent SLA forged aluminum upper and lower control arms and steering knuckle along with a transverse mono leaf spring and steel stabilizer offset. With the rear made up of an independent 5 link with tow and camber adjustment, forged aluminum control links and knuckle, transverse monoleaf spring, steel tie rods and stabilizer, tubular U-jointed aluminum driveshafts. Power 4 wheel disc brakes bring this racy sports car to a halt and the factory installed dual exhaust is still present and looking good. Drive-Ability This Corvette started easily, and effortlessly went through its paces on the test track. Good acceleration, nice rail like cornering, and a smooth cruising at speed. All functions were working just fab, and the seat controls enabled any driver to get it just right baby bear. We did note the passengers power seat did not move when prompted and the power antenna, while raising on its own does need to be lowered slowly by hand. An all preserved example with super low miles, the LT1 edition in white and red leather interior. Runs great and right now these vettes are a great deal! Imagine yourself in a classic Corvette, snaking along a winding road, listening to the growl of the engine, and the transmission shifting through as you tell yourself life is truly good! 1G1YY22P7T5108228 1-USA G-General Motors 1-Chevrolet YY-Corvette 2-Coupe 2-Active Belts, Front Airbags P-LT1 350ci V8 300HP 7-Check Digit T-1996 5-Bowling Green, KY Assy Plant 108228-Sequential Unit Number Classic Auto Mall is a 336,000-square foot classic and special interest automobile showroom, featuring over 850 vehicles for sale with showroom space for up to 1,000 vehicles.
