1995 Chevrolet Tahoe Custom
If youre a car enthusiast who likes watching build shows on TV, it is almost certain that you have seen a few episodes of Overhaulin. A show where people who love their car but dont necessarily have the time or money to build it how they would like, have their car taken without their knowledge, before getting surprised after a week with the custom car of their dreams. With host Chris Jacobs and hot-rodding legend Chip Foose at the helm, over 100 cars have received the Overhaulin treatment since the show started in 2004. This 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe is one of those custom cars, built in 2005 during the shows third season.
This generation Chevrolet Tahoe is coming back into fashion and this custom example is really quite special. Painted in two-tone silver with a blue roof, hood and front bull-bar, the truck is sitting high on a 6-inch Fabtech suspension lift. To fill out the wheel wells, a custom set of 20-inch Foose wheels are wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich K02 tires that look great and improve the trucks off-road abilities. The custom front bull-bar is paired with a custom skid plate and dual off-road lights, integrated into a custom bumper. Power running boards have been installed as have a set of custom fender flares.
Typically, Overhaulin would try to tailor their builds to the owner, integrating some of their other passions into the car. For this, the owner at the time was passionate about basketball, so the fully custom gray leather interior is accented by basketball-stitched leather seat inserts and basketball material door accents. Before the interior installation, the entire truck was Dynamatted to keep the noise down, and new gray carpets were installed too. Of course, it wouldnt be a complete build without a custom stereo and this truck was given 1,800 Watts of power with a custom 12-inch subwoofer enclosure in the rear, and dual DVD monitors in the rear of the front headrests.
Powering this Tahoe is a 350ci V8, that received a nice list of performance upgrades while with the Overhaulin team. These include an Edelbrock intake, Headman headers, a full MagnaFlow exhaust system and a K&N air filter. A new Bowler transmission was installed, while the front and rear axles were replaced and geared to accommodate the new, large tires. Baer disc brakes were fitted at all four corners and the transfer case was replaced.
As you can imagine, when people have their car on the show Overhaulin it tends to be a very personal build and not something they typically want to sell. Because of that, finding one of the actual cars from the show for sale is quite rare. This Tahoe is a very special truck and a collectors item that you can actually use with the entire family.
